Review Cafe Turquoise - New Plymouth

Had the mixed meat iskendar with yogurt and chilli sauce. So good! The meat had some beautiful flavours, the rice was perfect and the salad was fresh. The bread was very good and I wish there had been a bit more. But I left feeling pretty full anyway. My SO had the mixed vege iskendar and also really enjoyed. We'll be back.

I recently had a great dining experience at Cafe Turquoise in New Plymouth. The food was delicious, with a wide range of options to choose from. The portion sizes were also generous for the price, which was a nice surprise. Overall, I would definitely recommend Cafe Turquoise as a solid place to have dinner or a cheap eat. The food was great, the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was relaxed and casual. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a sit-down meal, this is a great place to visit.

Food was fantastic, mixed iskender was a large portion that was very tasty and filling. Fresh salads and well seasoned meats. Service was fast and efficient from professional staff, no complaints. Atmosphere is good, clean, relaxed, not cramped, indoor and outdoor seating. Reasonably priced, good location. The experience was so good I went back again the next day.

Currently visiting NP and was looking for place to eat at times where most restaurants are on siesta break..., glad to find out cafe turquoise. Service is friendly and quick and most of all good is good and tasty. Meats are cooked properly serves with 4 sauces and did I say, salad here is made fresh. Thank you cafe turquoise for a nice meal, will see you again before we head back to Akl.

Always great food. Kids love it. Had salad with mixed kebabs, chicken iskiender and lamb kebab. Yum

Unbeatable Kebab! Best i have tasted in NZ. Great if they open a branch in Auckland!! Owner told me all the kebab meats are selfmade....not bought! Highly recommended.

So enjoy the food and service here. The food is fresh and creative. The chip kebab is pure genius with sauces and extras for every taste. Coffee is fantastic with a wide range of drinks and beverages for all.

The mixed Iskend is made beautifully. The home made bread quality is something you can't find anywhere else near and I appreciate the hospitality given every time.

Delicious Turkish food delivered with a helpful and efficient service. I really like that this place combines the best of having a Turkish Kebabs takeaway with a restaurant feel. We were eating in and I was curious to start with. You grabbed your drinks out of the fridge and that was a tough call between the beer or the range of fizz and juice, including many organic brands. Then wandered over to the counter to place your order. Another tough call. Do you get the standard kebab or burger or meat on chips or go for one of the fancier options on menu with salads and breads. I went with the mixed meat on chips because I was STARVING and everything smelt so good. No regrets. What came out was a pile of deliciousness. My jeans were stretched and I was pushed to finish it. Both for value for money and for quality of food, I would recommend it. Then the excellent service on top really seals the deal. You've got to check it out yourself!

As a turk, I cannot recommend this place enough! The food is so consistent and delicious, had me feeling like I was back in Türkiye with the quality and flavour of the food 🥰

Been in New Plymouth 3 years now. Just found this wonderful place. Amazing Donar Kebab. So much flavour. Wow!

They serve some of the finest Kebab’s in NZ. The staff is nice and friendly, with value for money. Don’t forget to try, the most delicious Iskender’s. That’s one of my fav spots to grab my meal.

For what it is, it’s great. I eat there at least once a week. Great for takeaways but I’d never take a girl here for a date - she’d think I was cheap.

A really nice and cozy place to go to. Me and my mate visited this place and that left us speechless. A very big portions for most of the dishes they offer. One of the most tasty kebabs and I sender dishes I have eaten. Really saucy and soft meat, beetroot couscous is what you can't get anywhere else added to your kebab. I think some dishes might be a bit overpriced but when you see amount of portion you are like chur chur, that's the business.<br/><br/>This place helps you to fight your hunger in a great style of taste.

This place made the best kebab I have ever tasted and also their salad was amazing, ordered a medium and thought they had given me a large by mistake. The portion sizes are very good for the price. Lovely ambience about it. Old fashion building with modern seats and the two men working at the time were very friendly. Would rate 10/10 because I do not think that they could have made the food any better

When you're not sure what you want for dinner, a Chicken and Falafel Iskender really hits the spot. Bonus was being the best Iskender I've had in a long time - be visiting again next time I'm in town.

The other night my partner and I had the best kebabs we've ever had!!! My partner had vegetarian and I had lamb. We got them as takeaways. Every mouthful was exquisite - a multitude of flavours, each of them a treat, the combination had me wishing I'd ordered another. Thank you!

Cafe Turquoise is a large Turkish restaurant in central New Plymouth that doubles as a busy takeaway on Friday night. The menu offers the usual features of good food at reasonable prices. Ordering our meals was nothing short of chaotic with orders flying in and out for about 10 minutes before we could catch someone's attention (while standing at the counter) to ask for a table. The food made up for it all, though, with huge portions and great flavours. I enjoyed my lamb iskender meal with Turkish pide, a selection of dips, salad and rice. I'd go back to Cafe Turquoise again when it's not so busy.

Best kebabs in town hands down, Everything about this place is just impressive. Can find no faults at all. Quality, food, service, experience. I have been going every week for the last two months and am now afraid to go anywhere else in case of a let down. I love the idea that you can fill your own carafe of chilled filtered water at the bar. Prices are great. Recommend to everyone!
