Great meal, blue cod was lovely. Service was great & Erin was a great hostess, so friendly and welcoming and gave me a great wine option. Oh and the terimisu was delicious 😋
Only down side was my husband had seafood chowder that was really seafood soup...very runny for a chowder, but tasted good. A bit slow bringing meals & desserts out.
It was a busy night for a function we attended, the buffet food was top notch, ive never had beef so soft before in my life. The ladies and gent behind the bar were flat tack serving the function aswell as other patrons in the bar, and i cant commend them enough for how well they navigated the busyness of it all in a professional and friendly manner. cant wait to come back and try the new menu.

Get the ribeye with the roast veges, it will not disappoint. Didn't take photos cause I was so excited to eat everything. The empanadas are so good thanks !!!!!!
After a terrible experience at a place just a bit further up the road from this place we ended up here, Absolutely fantastic service, friendly, helpful and accommodating and the food was delicious 😋 definitely will be going back

Went to the North Star restaurant for a team lunch and had one of the best lunches I think I’ve ever had. The food was full of flavour, warm and delicious, just what I needed to fill my grumbling stomach on a cold day. The service was immaculate, friendly staff who greeted us with smiles and some lovely chat. I would be back here in a heartbeat and I highly recommend to anyone in Oamaru, or anyone who is near because I would drive 45 minutes to get a meal like this again. Thanks to North Star!!!
We popped in here for a late breakfast. They don't actually have a breakfast menu, but we had a very reasonably priced ribeye steak cooked to our order and delicious. The fries that came with it were seasoned nicely and the side salad was really tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed it and it didn't break the bank.
