The manager Greg was lovely enough to wait for us to arrive for spur of the moment break away. We enjoyed a scrumptious Indian takeaway meal from the hotel restaurant when we arrived, the staff had kept the kitchen open for us. The room was great with a comfy bed and modern bathroom. Lovely morning walk along the beach. Overall it was the best weekend away.
Food with fine service
Indian food served with manners and perfect timing. Nice and warm on a winter evening. Good music with lots of information about the food from the waiter. The food was so good I ate it rather than remember to take photos.
I did manage one photo of the drink.
We had entree and mains and it filled us up after a day of walks and mini golf.
Very popular with locals as take aways served to many locals well as dine in.
The medium was perfect for our taste Spicy but not to hot. .We have been to India so understand and like hot food.
Very nice rooms, well laid out, spacious, everything you need. And a very modern, deluxe bathroom with spa bath and extra walk in shower. Well working heat pump and comfy bed. Very good value for money. Sunset views too. Very pleasant surprise in this small town.
Awesome place for couples or families. Large, clean rooms with cooking facilities. All sky movie channels! Restaurant serving European or Indian food, lovely food. We've been before and we'll come again. Staff are lovely, they serviced our room and we only stayed two nights. Excellent service. Really close to beach or peninsula walk.
We only had dinner there as we were passing through. The staff was friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. My chicken melt dish consisting of chicken, bacon, cream cheese and some other tasty cheese sprinkled on top and baked on a thick, tasty chunk of bread was out of this world and the salad it was served with was crispy, fresh and delish. My companion enjoyed her crumbed beef schnitzel served with salad and chips. For desserts we chose an ice cream sundae and a yummy cheesecake. From brochures the accomodation looks elegant and its position near the beach and centre of town gives this hotel added appeal.
Had a very nice lunch after a lovely drive around the mountain. A very quiet Tuesday in the restaurent at Headlands Hotel but the staff were most welcoming and we all had a great time. Good food, good service and good company-what more could you want!!!
Headlands Hotel would be the best place to stay in Opunake. The rooms are very well equipped, modern, clean, well maintained and interesting particularly if you are in the tower. There is an Indian restaurant underneath that has a fabulous menu and included European dishes to suit any taste. Our experience overall was excellent and would recommend Headlands to anyone.

Lovely place, super close to the beach and shops. Facilities are great and the rooms are clean and tidy. Nice staff, always willing to help. Casual place with a nice Indian restaurant attached.
Lovely place to stay. Has everything you need, we had our room upgraded for free as there wernt many people staying at the time. I think youll find it is the best hotel in Opunake. Nice views if your in one of the tower rooms. It is pricey though. It has an indian restaurant which has some great indian food, they also have other seafood options too.
