What a wonderful cafe! We were treated to fantastic and friendly service, great coffee and a wealth of ready made baked goods as well as a full breakfast and lunch menu.
Our daughters were blown away by the presentation of the kids pancake plate: two pancakes sandwiching a grilled banana, a full piece of bacon, and topped by powdered sugar. This was joined by sides of syrup, whipped cream, a bowl of fruit, a marshmallow skewer, and a chocolate strawberry candy treat. The kids dove in before I could take a photo (someone upload one for me please). This dish is worth the trip alone.
For those with allergies, there is signage everywhere asking you to notify the staff of allergies in order to discuss substitutions - a welcome sight as this is so often a tough conversation with most restaurants.
The attention to detail in the food made for a really enjoyable experience. The Turmeric Latte was the best we've had. Staff were excellent and friendly. To be fair we arrived 20 minutes before closing and ordered a late lunch. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks so much, made our day that much better.
Allison made our wedding buffet dinner and canapes. Amazing! She made everything what we wanted and how we wanted. If you are looking for some catering to your event in Orewa area, I can 100% recommend Alleykatz Cafe. Thank you Alley for service!
Alley katz are a friendly bunch who serve great food. They have a good selection of gluten free foods.
Seating indoors can be cramped at times, but they do have on street dining options too. They're at the far end of orewa, so avoiding the hustle and bustle of the drag strip. Recommended!
Exceptional service, were visiting from America and really enjoyed eating here. The ladies here went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. Best breakfast in a very long time.

Great coffee no matter who makes it. Friendly staff. No loud music. Cosy inside, good tables outside. Has gone biodegradable. Scones could be smaller!
This has the best Mince on toast ever I will be back for more its been such a long time since ive had such a nice breakfast. Thank you would reccomend this shop so much, staff are awesome and very helpful... perfect crew 100%
