Absolutely delicious fish and chips! Best I’ve had in a long time. Atmosphere was homely and sociable and the staff were lovely and helpful.
Hands down best raw fish & fried bread in town 👌 I come all the way from central Auckland when I can to get my hands on these containers of gold. Perfect raw fish recipe and always fresh. Soaking up that coconut cream goodness with a hot piece of fried bread is what life is all about
Good fish, liked it. Chips were ok, a little soggy but all in all tasty meal. Sauce needs an uplift, looks like budget brand, very sweet and almost no tanginess.
It's been 6 years since the last time I had fried bread, coming to this takeaway with a couple of lads from my rugby team was definitely my calling to refresh my memories eating fried bread. Also bought some chips along with it as well. The first bite into that fried bread was the most satisfying moment I've ever had. Eating something you haven't eaten for years, such a great feeling.
Just the ordinary service from any typical takeaway store pretty much played its part, that doesn't really bother me at all.
Inside, it's kind of worn out. It's feels like the place has been around for quite some time, so it's quite established. It was quite busy by the time we got there. I mean what can do you on a winters afternoon after a post-game right?

Come here for my fried bread fix. Yummy fish and chips as well just wish the portion was bigger as its a bit dear. Also a bit of a wait but they're usually busy so worth the wait.
There are only 2 places in South Auckland that I consider the best fish'n chips eat-in / takeaways, and this is 1 of them. Not asian owned so you know you'll get quality over quantity. Reasonably priced for portioned fresh food, clean environment. Very popular amongst the locals. Open 7 days till the evening. Great place to eat on a cold day / evening. Totally recommended. Seafood perfection 👍🏼
Fish is fresh and cooked right! Chips are a nice size. The place was packed and busy same outside in the carpark. I think the only thing I could say is… 😫 I didn’t know they sold fried bread.. I would come back here again for sure! ☺️ I bought the snapper $7 and minimum chips $3 and marinated mussels $9
I so look forward to their Fish meals and 2 lots of mussels and a couple of pieces of fried bread. The meals are on point. Hygiene is 4 star. They should really put curtain between the workers at the back. Staff, very good service. 👍 Thumbs up from me. You may need to improve your Manurewa shop tho. That's just my opinion. Tucked away in the corner. You can hardly notice its there. God bless.
My first fish 🐟 & and chips 🍟 upon my arrival back home. They were yum, and so was the fish burger, fried bread, and raw fish.
Tobys Otahuhu. We had the fish & chips meal and fried bread. Food was to die for, service was excellent, and the place was so clean and tidy. Thanks Tobys, you never disappoint. 10/10 from me.
We drive all the way from central to buy from here 🥰 never disappointed in the quality of the food, especially their raw fish. Unsure of how the Toby’s in glen Eden standards are not up to par. But nevertheless, would rather drive all the way here, then order from the glen Eden again.

Been so long since Covid, but returning today and we are not disappointed! Toby's delicious food, amazing girl's customer service at the counter and lovely clean environment! Loving the music here too! Two snapper meals, 8 mussels, for the 2 of us, we are full! Absolutely worth the little drive to Otahuhu, thank you for our Sunday dinner Toby's Otahuhu, so worth it!!!!
It's a very busy place everyday. Fresh sea food such as: Muscles with the shell or in a container along with Kina etc. As u see in the photo it's a must to buy, Snapper, with Chips, Eggs, Salad and Lemon. Oh and the star of everyday Fried Bread (Yummy). Service is great, friendly and the environment is clean.
If you want the freshest sea food the nicest people both visiting to buy and also help serve you Toby's Seafood is the place to be it's become my number 1 place when ordering seafood here in Auckland.
