Review Cafe 51 - Oxford

Love the warm happy staff and coffee here. It's our regular local stop now. Especially love the cheese scones!!

Good Cafe in Oxford. Really good food and options - very busy on the day we were there though and can get a bit noisy. Turns out we were there on an annual whole town garage sale though so is understandable that things were a bit busier than normal. Nice space.

Went for lunch - enjoyed the experience Very pleasant staff, thoughtful- we ordered a meal to share & it was presented nicely in 2 plates, food well cooked & eating area had enough room to move freely between tables, facilities clean Overall a very pleasant experience

I got the Lambs fry, wife got the pork belly thai salad and we got the children fluffies and childrens bacon and eggs. Servings are generous. The prices are a little high, but the overall experience makes up for it. The oat milk latte (wifes) was great and the long black was tasty. Worth travelling to Oxford for this cafe alone. Staff are friendly and attentive even when busy, toilets and cafe layout is wheel chair friendly. When the children were done eating there is a little play kitchen for the young ones to keep themselves occupied enough while the adults enjoy their coffee.

Lovely little find. We had delicious brunch and coffee here recently while the kids made great use of the toys outside. Staff were lovely and so efficient. Loved it here.

Delicious coffee and a fantastic building with a great atmosphere. Had a nice wrap around terrace, and a coffee garden at the side with plenty of space. Kids can play out there too, making it a really nice space. Friendly staff too, making it our go to place in Oxford.

Wonderful service, great food! They had run out of Lamb's Fry so I ordered the mushroom and bacon plate instead and it was absolutely delightful. The little one had the nuggets and fries and claimed it was better than McDonald's. High praise indeed.

Such a lovely welcoming cafe. Ordered the waffles to share and it arrived served on 2 separate dishes. Such a nice thing to do.

My partner and I have just had a lovely meal at Cafe 51. My partner had the fish main and I had the venison main. The service attentive, but not overbearing. The setting was lovely. The restaurant is in a converted house on the main street. The meals were expensive compared to what I usually pay. But it was well worth it. A great place for a special treat.

We visit reasonably regularly. Staff are always friendly and the food is great. A little on the pricey side but usually worth it. On a nice day its great to sit outside under the umbrellas and we never feel hurried. Great coffee too. Well done Café 51.

I have had a few meals there - the food is always well cooked and presented. Very helpful staff, great service. I love the setting, both indoor and out. Will definitely go back again, and again

Charge you more for a take away coffee, never feel at ease there. Outside location lovely.

And poor poor taste teen age girls with low cut tops leaning over your table, falling out all over your food.

Would rather give it a miss than get a coffee here.

I have lunch here each time I visit Oxford, about once a month, and have never been disappointed. Good service and great food, especially recommend the tasty seafood chowder, a meal in itself. Comfortable surroundings and interesting selection of paintings to view as a bonus.

Very poor service. We felt that the wait staff were "put out" by our presence.

Kids ordered fries. Staggered when presented with crinkle cut, out of the freezer, chips.

BLT one slice of bread (which was nice) one slice of lettuce, two slices of tomato, two rashers of badly cooked, extremely fatty, bacon and more of the crinkle cuts. Wife's corn fritters could have been used to patch a road. Over priced and under delivered.

On the plus side we went to Jo Seager's for coffee and the wait staff were actually twice as rude, which took some doing!

Not what a family seeking a bit of respite from the shaking, silt and destroyed house were looking for.

Won't be eating in Oxford again.

Simply the best! Cafe 51 never fails to impress. Biggest decision is to order what we fell in love with last time, or order something new!

Great atmosphere. Some would say perhaps a tad pricey but you can "forgive" when the food and service is just so damn good. The dinner menu, given the range of choice, is exciting. I'd strongly recommend any fish lover seriously consider going for the Seafood Chowder entree - magnificent! On the Mains side of the ledger the Rack of Lamb is "to die for," and the desserts simply serve to make "Weight Watchers" - the ENEMY! Magnificent all round!!
