My partner and I have just had a lovely meal at Cafe 51. My partner had the fish main and I had the venison main. The service attentive, but not overbearing. The setting was lovely. The restaurant is in a converted house on the main street. The meals were expensive compared to what I usually pay. But it was well worth it. A great place for a special treat.
We visit reasonably regularly. Staff are always friendly and the food is great. A little on the pricey side but usually worth it. On a nice day its great to sit outside under the umbrellas and we never feel hurried. Great coffee too. Well done Café 51.
I have had a few meals there - the food is always well cooked and presented. Very helpful staff, great service. I love the setting, both indoor and out. Will definitely go back again, and again
I have lunch here each time I visit Oxford, about once a month, and have never been disappointed. Good service and great food, especially recommend the tasty seafood chowder, a meal in itself. Comfortable surroundings and interesting selection of paintings to view as a bonus.
Simply the best! Cafe 51 never fails to impress. Biggest decision is to order what we fell in love with last time, or order something new!
Great atmosphere. Some would say perhaps a tad pricey but you can "forgive" when the food and service is just so damn good. The dinner menu, given the range of choice, is exciting. I'd strongly recommend any fish lover seriously consider going for the Seafood Chowder entree - magnificent! On the Mains side of the ledger the Rack of Lamb is "to die for," and the desserts simply serve to make "Weight Watchers" - the ENEMY! Magnificent all round!!
Love the warm happy staff and coffee here. It's our regular local stop now. Especially love the cheese scones!!
Good Cafe in Oxford. Really good food and options - very busy on the day we were there though and can get a bit noisy. Turns out we were there on an annual whole town garage sale though so is understandable that things were a bit busier than normal. Nice space.
Went for lunch - enjoyed the experience Very pleasant staff, thoughtful- we ordered a meal to share & it was presented nicely in 2 plates, food well cooked & eating area had enough room to move freely between tables, facilities clean
Overall a very pleasant experience
I got the Lambs fry, wife got the pork belly thai salad and we got the children fluffies and childrens bacon and eggs. Servings are generous. The prices are a little high, but the overall experience makes up for it. The oat milk latte (wifes) was great and the long black was tasty. Worth travelling to Oxford for this cafe alone. Staff are friendly and attentive even when busy, toilets and cafe layout is wheel chair friendly. When the children were done eating there is a little play kitchen for the young ones to keep themselves occupied enough while the adults enjoy their coffee.
Cute place. Fast and friendly service. Good food, good selection.
Such great food and always consistently high standard! Love this place! Quick drive out from Chch and such good service too!!!
We celebrated combined birthdays here, 12 of us in our group. Everyone absolutely loved the meals. Top service, well presented meals. Recommend.
An awesome little Cafe in Oxford, Christchurch NZ, my wife and I were rather cool after riding our trike in frosty weather, early morning, Café was pleasantly warmed by fire, food excellent... many thanks guys !
