Really nice spot with friendly staff, coffee is always good. The potato hash in the build a breakfast menu is a must try and keeps us coming back. Lovely outside area in the summer & dog friendly

Awesome dog friendly cafe! People are very friends, food is amazing everytime looking the most delicious. Brings dogs water and understands if they are nervous or when to ignore them.

Was a yummy breakfast with lots of options and you don't have to have toast. The mocha was brilliant, as was the cappuccino. Definitely recommend.

I bet your wondering what the pink drink , it’s a Beetroot Latte , yes you heard me . It was decent but I added sugar to it . I also ordered Deep Fried Cauliflower Pork Sliders 🍔 Both very delicious and different, if you don’t like spice I wouldn’t recommend for you but if you do I 100% would recommend it . I loved the mini coffee cups they so cute . The vibe and atmosphere was a happy and the staff are always keen for a joke/laugh . Love love love it , would go back

LOCAL is an absolutely world-class Cafe! The best coffee we have had in New Zealand and the service is exemplary. Clean, modern atmosphere, and friendly staff. Highly recommend.

This place is bright, sunny and the staff attentive and understanding. Went in for a coffee and ended up staying two hours without any judgment from staff. Will go and eat next and bring more people with me. Great place and the food I saw coming out looked amazing.

Beautiful little spot in Palmy with fantastic service. Really enjoyed the build your own breakfast, very fairly priced.

Good coffee and nice quality food. The environment and decor is really pleasant. Menu for breakfast is quite limited, but what's on offer is good quality and the coffee is excellent. The service was really good and the staff were really friendly.

Stopped in to Local for breakfast on the way north. Very personable, friendly and prompt service. Ordered the Smashed Avo and Feta, and my partner did the build-your-own breakfast, which was a great treat! Don't want eggs? No problem! Both meals were well-prepared, beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Highly recommend Local and if we are back in Palmy for breakfast again, we will definitely pop by!

Headed in off the cuff for a coffee and eats. The staff were amazing with dietary requirements we have and were checking with the chefs to ensure we were looked after. Plus this is one of the ONLY places in NZ that serves Lactose Free Milk as an option! Most other places just have coconut, almond and oat. Thank you team! We will be back for sure

Had a long black and the smash avocado hash. Great coffee and probably the best breakfast in Palmerston North.

A disappointing first visit for breakfast this morning.  Our group booked and ordered ahead.  I would have expected the food to be ready shortly after arriving, but it was 25 minutes before any food arrived.  One person was forgotten altogether and took their breakfast as a takeaway as everyone else had finished eating.  The waitress was grumpy. How do you run out of mushrooms at 8am?  The coffee was good.

My friend and I have given local a few chances but we won’t be back. Every time we come here we are essentially forgotten about - crazy long wait for food (one time we waited an hour), and people who arrived long after us getting theirs promptly while we wait. There seems to be issues with priority of customers/ when it gets busy they lose track of orders. Such a shame Cus the food is pretty good!

After waiting a very long time food was average, the raspberry lemon was tasteless and the worst customer service having standing at the counter for a while, while two of the girls were just chatting and then the waiter just walking past not asking if I needed anything and just steered at me it dose not hurt to smile. Definitely won’t be back

No hate at all just genuine constructive criticism. This is the second time I’ve been here since it’s been open and I really wanted to enjoy my experience here. We ordered coffee which looked exactly the same as our second lot, picture below. Both times we went the coffees were awfully burnt. When we told this to the staff we were meet with scowls and very unfriendly customer service. And received another batch of burnt coffees. We clearly weren’t happy with the next batch and weren’t offered any compensation or drinkable coffees. The food was average when taking into consideration the long wait and the price. Please do a better job next time and look at improving customer service. I won’t be coming back sorry.

Booked a table for a work lunch. Had the option to preorder over the phone which was a really good idea so that we weren't waiting a long time for our food during the lunch rush. Everyone was happy with their meals but a little disappointed that our curly fries didn't come out very curly - we must have gotten the end of a batch because the fries were more scraps than anything. However, the fries had a good flavour. A couple of coffee orders were missed at the end of our meal which we were a little upset about. Overall very good food and good service but I might try to avoid the lunch rush next time because I wouldn't want any of my ordered items forgotten again.

The breakfast style of build your own breakfast was great. Finally a place that offers breakfast with a choice of no bread. I had scrambled eggs on a bed of spinach with bacon and mushrooms. Was delicious. The place is busy and noisy which is the only draw back

Both the food and decor are modern and fresh; a nice change from some of the crusty old cafés in Palmerston North. The breakfast menu is a clever 'pick and mix' or 'build your own brekkie' affair, so excellent for a range of tastes and dietary preferences. Looking forward to a long lunch with a glass of wine (or two) in the courtyard section. They seem to get busy, so get there early.
