My boyfriend and I came here for brunch a couple of weeks ago and service was fantastic! Great meals that were very filling and not too overpriced! Have been here before and had a Jaffa hot chocolate which unfortunately they could not make but offered instead to make a butterscotch hot chocolate! When brought out the waitress was happy to make me a new one if I did not like it but it was fantastic and I have been back since to get another! Would definitely go back again, thanks for the great service!
Best food in palmy, everything is made onsite, which is a rare find these days !!! Awesome outdoor courtyard, modern cafe with great coffee and top staff !!! Kiwi burger is the shizz as well as there home made aioli & huge selection of deli food !!!
My partner and I came by for lunch after going through our Entertainment Book for a new place to try. Despite being told there was a 20 min wait for our meals, they arrived within 10 mins and were faultless. Coffee was excellent and the staff very friendly. Great atmosphere, warm, inviting with plenty of seating. Will definitely be back!
Went with a friend for lunch. I ordered the Cajun chicken salad, and enjoyed it overall. There was a bit too much dressing, and a mysterious chunk of stale bread on top, but the chicken was really nice and the salad veges were fresh. The coffee and cake were both great, and the service was good. It was odd that the specials board is beyond the counter - I didn't even see it until after I placed my order (a shame as I would have been tempted by one of the items).
This place is amazing, Palmerston Norths little secret. The deli food is the best selection Ive seen here and you can tell everything is hand made unlike other places in town. The illy coffee is top notch and the boutique wines are amazing and well price. The staff are bubbly and go out of there way to help you.
If you are heading here go early for lunch or book as its always busy. This is a well run cafe and deserve some praise. PS the eggs Benny is amazing. Went back again this week and they have a new menu......wow the food is something else, had the retro hash you have to try it. And forgot to mention the baking they do, all made there and you just can't decide what to have, spoilt for chose.
We had a work farewell organized for about 15 people on a Friday night. The cafe' was very quite with very few people there which was unfortunate and we cannot understand why? The food was out of this world! We enjoyed the new menu mains and one of the party commented that the chicken she had was the best she had ever eaten! Perhaps a little more promotion of their wonderful service and delicious food would help to swell the patronage a little more?? Live music on Fridays perhaps?
In the meantime we have decided we will definitely be back!
Cooperage impressed me. The food is stunning with excellent service. Great Happy hour prices. Tapas are great change from the traditional dinning. You should go!

How did I not know about this place before now. Cabinet food is amazing, huge choice of delicious dishes. Then there is a menu also. Hardest thing is having to choose what your going to have. I totally recommend the potato and chorizo for those savory lovers out there.
This cute wee cafe is attached to a furniture store which is a great way to pass time while waiting for friends you're meeting there. I ordered the chicken salad which was very nice, however the menu specified cherry tomatoes and I recieved large chunks of cut up tomato which I want a fan of. Overall though, a very pleasant experience
We had booked in advance to bring our mum out for mother's day. When we arrived the table had not been cleared but they seated us anyway and proceeded to clean around us. The table, once cleared, was not reset so we were having to get our own cutlery, glasses and water and menus.
We proceeded to the queue to order. We were advised that anything ordered off the menu would take at least 40mins. Thankfully there was a great selection of cabinet food and a specials board for a quick option. Our selections arrived in a timely fashion and the food was actually really tasty and well presented. We created our own atmosphere. The staff, although obviously very busy, were pleasant and friendly. I think a few extra staff would have gone a long way to making the experience a lot more pleasant. Well done though.
Had a group breakfast. Meals were large and presentation was lovely. All enjoyed their food. Prices seemed right for the meals.
The Cooperage has friendly staff and an enjoyable atmosphere. They offer great food for very good value!
Three of us enjoyed a meal there today. Their 'Potato Dippers' are delish and they have flavoursome and filling Gluten Free mains.
Good spot for breakfast, ordered in some coffee and egg benedict, was goooooddddd. Staff were idk working i guess.

Pleasant service & a casual but inviting atmosphere.
We only visited the cafe 4 times during the last 3 years. The food and selection are great open Stake - sandwich too big for one. The staff is very friendly, a little bit noisy with groups frequently visiting the cafe as to be expected in a busy cafe. 👍
One of the best stake sandwiches around. Service was bit slow understandable busy establishment. Bit loud when you sit next to a group it's all good. 👍
Went to The Cooperage for the first time today for lunch. Absolutely yummy!!! I had the Potato and Chorizo meal with caramelized onions, wilted spinach, cherry tomatoes, bacon and poached egg. Just spicy enough to warm me up on a cold day, filling and I like how they didn't smother it with hollandaise sauce and pesto. Perfect proportions. Husband had beef burger and he was happily satisfied too. Will defininately be back to try many if the other yummy things that were on the menu and what I saw in the cabinet!
