Review Chokolato @ The Library - Palmerston North

The library is located in the heart of the city. A three level building is from architecture designed with awards. The building is surrounded by cafes and restaurants; it's good to find something for the stomach after the library.

I don't live in Palmy, but had cause to visit for the day and needed a quiet place to do some study. The library was fantastic, plenty of seats with hotpoints in easy reach and free wifi and it was clean and quiet. I emailed before I visited the site and got quick and helpful reply. A great facility

The Central City Library is spacious with seating areas, book displays, new releases, videos and the usual shelves of books, over several floors. The staff are friendly and helpful, computers and self checkout stations are available on each level. Great for a quick visit or a longer stay.

this library is so cute and cosy. i was here for a few hours while my partner was busy, and watching how many different people come in and connect with each other and help each other out was lovely. really tidy, cute decorations, great book selection, i really loved the atmosphere

Such a cool Library space with the amalgamation of the old D.I.C. building to the new build. Funky lay out between different areas and so child friendly.

Amazing and attentive staff, clean, spacious with free wifi to top it off! The upstairs space might be a bit loud sometimes as it contains the kids/toddlers section and as we all know children have a tendency of being loud, but it's the perfect place to go if you want some space/quiet to study and or need access to a computer! It also has quite a selection of good books, and if they don't you can request for one and they'll get back to you right away :).

I just recently rekindled my love of books and decided to get a library card. I signed up online and went in today to complete the process. Very easy and straight forward. Renee served me. She was very helpful, very friendly, took me for a tour, showed me the computer system, explained some of what can be done, answered my questions and was cheerful the whole time. I used the auto system to checkout. Absolutely amazed at how far systems have come since I last stepped into a library. Renee needs a pay raise. Whatever you are paying her, it's not enough.

I adore this library- the staff are fantastic 99% of the time, in 20 odd years I’ve had one bad experience. It’s funky and fun inside and out. The kids section is so handy, they have a kids toilet in the area so you don’t need to go far and the hand basin is set at toddler height. They have puzzles and DVDs and posters to hire as well as books. The book check out machines are easy to use and fun to let the kids try too. You can borrow virtual books thru an app, and they have a computer room on the ground floor too. I’m so glad I can utilise this space for instilling the love of reading into my kids!

Great city library with a big selection of books. Online app is a good way to find a book or what you're looking for. They can get books from other PNCC libraries to your local library too Audio books and DVD collections. Great place to visit if you need internet connection, and there's a tech lab with 3d printing, etc on the Square.

A new person may get little bit confuse at first visit. But it is a cool place with perfect location and very good choice of books and literature. Staff is very friendly and helpful 😊

PN City library is the best. Great resources and access to same. Helpful staff.

nice place but if you plan on hanging around a while make sure to sit at a desk/table; the chairs by the window will make your clothes smell funny

Amazing staff, SO So so helpful, and caring. BELIEVE me, all are so friendly. I know, cause I needed help in a hurry, and I could not have asked for better understanding and comfort. So thank you to the staff at PN Library, you have done NZ proud. There may be a division appearing in our LIVES right now, but the care shown, demonstrated to me in no uncertain terms, there is still those who have a humble, very helpful nature. Sometimes in LIFE, something may happen to change your course, that such kindness today has done that for me I am sure. Thanks again.

What a great resource fornthe whole family. A great space and very well laid out. The staff is very helpful and lots to do for the kids. The entryway and unique art make this a very nice space for reading and study. It is the 'living room' of the town!

Huge. Cool interior but the layout was a bit unusual, I'd go as far as to say it is confusing. The library itself has a good range of spaces including places to work, read, do research etc. It's a warm respite during bad weather. Would be better if they had more power points to charge laptops and phones. Sometimes it's a place of refuge for the homeless and people with nowhere else to go.

Nicely arranged shelves, easy to access services make for a family friendly environment. Particularly fond of office spaces you can hire for meetings and group discussions.
