The library is located in the heart of the city. A three level building is from architecture designed with awards. The building is surrounded by cafes and restaurants; it's good to find something for the stomach after the library.
I don't live in Palmy, but had cause to visit for the day and needed a quiet place to do some study. The library was fantastic, plenty of seats with hotpoints in easy reach and free wifi and it was clean and quiet. I emailed before I visited the site and got quick and helpful reply. A great facility
The Central City Library is spacious with seating areas, book displays, new releases, videos and the usual shelves of books, over several floors.
The staff are friendly and helpful, computers and self checkout stations are available on each level.
Great for a quick visit or a longer stay.
this library is so cute and cosy. i was here for a few hours while my partner was busy, and watching how many different people come in and connect with each other and help each other out was lovely. really tidy, cute decorations, great book selection, i really loved the atmosphere

Such a cool Library space with the amalgamation of the old D.I.C. building to the new build. Funky lay out between different areas and so child friendly.
Amazing and attentive staff, clean, spacious with free wifi to top it off! The upstairs space might be a bit loud sometimes as it contains the kids/toddlers section and as we all know children have a tendency of being loud, but it's the perfect place to go if you want some space/quiet to study and or need access to a computer! It also has quite a selection of good books, and if they don't you can request for one and they'll get back to you right away :).

I just recently rekindled my love of books and decided to get a library card. I signed up online and went in today to complete the process. Very easy and straight forward. Renee served me. She was very helpful, very friendly, took me for a tour, showed me the computer system, explained some of what can be done, answered my questions and was cheerful the whole time. I used the auto system to checkout. Absolutely amazed at how far systems have come since I last stepped into a library. Renee needs a pay raise. Whatever you are paying her, it's not enough.
I adore this library- the staff are fantastic 99% of the time, in 20 odd years I’ve had one bad experience.
It’s funky and fun inside and out.
The kids section is so handy, they have a kids toilet in the area so you don’t need to go far and the hand basin is set at toddler height.
They have puzzles and DVDs and posters to hire as well as books.
The book check out machines are easy to use and fun to let the kids try too.
You can borrow virtual books thru an app, and they have a computer room on the ground floor too.
I’m so glad I can utilise this space for instilling the love of reading into my kids!
