Review Calum's Bakery - Papakura

So many choices of pies, and the pastry is deliciousss. Great set-up with a self-serve line for cold items. We tried several different pies and they were all fantastic. Also tried a couple dessert slices. Prices are great, too!

Always fresh great pies, doughnuts, and what is called double happy which is a sausage roll with added ham and cheese very filling! They are always busy, not rude but not have service friendly down pat yet. Lines go quickly Normally two tills going at once, Food so worth it though!

Typical traditional Kiwi bakery. Very consistent with the food and the don't skimp on the quality of the pie ingredients.

I've been coming to Calums for about 20 years now, and I think it's the best bakery in Papakura. The food never disappoints, the coffee is good, and the staff are quick to help and nice.

I’ve only been here twice and I’m loving their pies my new favorite go to bakery when I’m craving for some pies and pastries reasonably price as well.

Beautiful bakery stopped here on a cold Saturday morning on our way to Hamilton and brought a coffee and steak bacon and cheese pie. Flaky pastry and the filling was thick and had a lot of meat inside. Store was nice and clean and also they have a separate dining area if you want to sit down and have your feed. Awesome shop Best pie I've ever had. Coffee was good too.

food here is pretty good and fairly consistent. it's the go to when we have people over as we know they don't have good pies where they're from

This place is incredible and has been around as long as I have! The highlights are the pies, cream doughnuts, Afghans, ginger crunch and coconut tarts. A help- yourself style bakery with easy parking out the front. Such consistently good food. Great for a road trip! Thanks Calum's!

A really good bakery with some great food. Their pies are filled to the brim with meat and gravy that is so tasty and delicious that the hardest part is deciding what to eat. The chicken pie and sausage roll are standouts but don't forget the sandwiches, rolls and summer rolls are really good too, especially the dipping sauce for the summer rolls. Even better than the food is the price. This place is the best bakery in the area by far.

Superb food, my go to bakery. Love their extensive range of selections. Their custard pies are outstanding. Nice and friendly staff. Highly recommend to try this place if you havent already.

Used to always come to this bakery just for their sausage rolls when I lived in papakura. I've never tried their pies due to my love for their sausage rolls but I've heard they are really good. I also know they have a really nice caramel slice

Best bakery in papakura. Best selection and flavours by far. Their egg pies, cronuts and muffins are amazing. Definitely recommend this bakery over the rest

Five words: Ham and Cheese Sausage Roll. It is among the best things I've ever tasted in my life. Soft sausage meat that melts in your mouth and a big pocket of gooey melted cheese, all wrapped in golden flaky pastry. Heaven. Their Cronuts are equally phenomenal; a multitude of flavours and textures in one bite. The best is Salted Caramel. Some of their other goods miss the mark a little. I don't like the (obviously homemade) strawberry jam they use in their donuts, etc - it's rather sour tasting. Same deal with the canned apricots they use in their Danishes - also sour. My brother complained about the lack of pepper in his Pepper Steak Pie.  The Filled Rolls and Lamingtons are great. I always visit when I'm in the area to grab old favourites and try something new as well.

yea iuse to alwaes go there specially 4 there chocolate logs for birthday's but they changed ownership not as gud now jus my own opinion they have nice pies to but long wae frm kura I liked it wen old owners had it kiaora

absolutely great food been going here since the 90's I spent about 5000 at this place always get the best food and ovr a great place it can't be topped

My new go to! Everything looks so yummy and I always buy far too much! Haven’t bought anything I didn’t like/love! Bit pricey but quality over quantity! Rather eat good food for more money then bad food for cheaper!

One of the best bakeries in papakura. Everything is on point. My favs is the ham and cheese sausage roll, lamington. And coffees hit the spot. You won’t be disappointed

Tane & I have been qoinq there for aqes. Before we had our tamarikis & still continue to go there. Now they have qrown up they rather qo there than any other bakery/cafe as they know the kai is always fresh. I personally love how fresh their pies are not like others it's hard dry and has more pastry than filling. Their donuts are friqqn delish, custard squares just melts in your mouth, paninis are flavourful. My Tane always has the quiche & he's not fussed which one. Would hiqhly recommend. Best affordable bakery food in Papakura! Is definitely a must try! They dont seem to have any bad tasting food and their sweets are by far the best as they dont taste fake or gross like your typical bakery does.

It took me some time to pick up what I want because there was a lot of appealing savoury & sweets to choose from the food cabinet. My favorite one was pumpkin & spinach quiche (not round one, triangle shape one), creamy and tasty. I enjoyed it with a nice cup of cappuccino. I also liked the spacious eat in room adjacent to the bakery. I wish I could try more food over there, but sadly I have a limit for my stomach😌

Nice and fresh bakery! Can always rely on Calum's to serve fresh pies,sandwiches and donuts daily. Their cronuts are a must try!! Reasonably priced with reasonable service.

Great selection of quiches, sandwiches, slices and pies. Today, service was prompt but my steak and mushroom pie tasted salty. The coffee and hot chocolate that I ordered wasn't hot, just warm. Not so happy about it. Reasonable price for people on the go and quick bite. Will be expecting better next time.....this place is quite popular in South Auckland!

This is a great little spot for cheap fresh food there chicken pies are amazing and there rolls are even better always fresh you never feel dodgy eating here

I go out of my way to go to Calum's. The best bakery in south Auckland, and haven't found a better one elsewhere in the city so far. <br/><br/>They have PROPER FOOD! The sandwiches are great - they don't slather their bread with oodles of cheap and nasty table spread like so many places do, and the filling is always plentiful (and not just at the front of the sandwich!). The cakes and slices are delicious and don't leave you with a nasty taste in the mouth like food from cheapo bakeries will. The pies are amazing! And there is also a good selection of other sorts of decent takeaway food as well, like pasta and fried rice, which makes for an excellent assortment all round.<br/><br/>There's often a queue but it's worth the wait. The drinks are a little pricey, but that's the worst I have to say.

Calums is an awesome for those on a budget and are sick of the generic selection of slices at most bakeries. They have a VEGETARIAN PIE! However they run out by 12pm. Every day. Its a shame there's no vegetarian sandwiches either!
