The food was yummy. Service was excellent. If you have fur babies they are welcome in the outdoor seating area. We will be back again. :-)

I had the kumara rosti with eggs and bacon, spinach and pesto for breakfast on this warm rainy Saturday morning. We sat outside and watched the world go by,and a friendly little dog joined us from the next table. A lady came up to admire my meal . Coffee was good. Life is good. Thanks friendly waitress...

Looked like a good selection of food on the menu, portion size of the meals we ordered was a bit on the small side. Coffee was good.

Only there for a coffee and scone. Both were great with plenty of butter to help to scone go down. We sat outside under an umbrella that allowed the breeze to circulate. It was a very pleasant place to be. Outside sound system needs to be going or upgraded so one can hear the wallpaper music to be perfect.

You can NEVER go wrong with a coffee here it is always delicious. Grab a take away coffee and a scone and head to the beach or sit in and enjoy the atmosphere. A great cafe to hit after a hard days shipping.

Had an wesome black coffe prepared by Amy. My order was impecably taken by Tash who offered a replacement for when I asked for no toast. The vegan falafel dish was delightful! Will definitely be in again :)

We really enjoyed it here, the food was really tasty and not too expensive, was pretty empty so the service was really prompt but obviously couldn't say about service at busy periods.. The waitress was really nice and friendly and made us feel welcome etc would recommend

Great coffee. Fantastic food. Service very good. Were not given funny looks when we ordered off the kids menu.😊

Consistently good and i had my favourite French toast and my beverage was iced chocolate. Pancakes and a berry smoothie for my husband who enjoyed his also.

Food was nice but took ages to come (55 mins) which allowed the hangover to really settle itself in. Iced coffee/mocha was great and there are heaps of options for hot and cold drinks, and also milk type available. As a table we had the big brekkie, kumara rostis, and vegetarian breakfasts which were good in size, cheap, and nice enough.

Second visit at Gana Cafe in Papamoa. The menu and cabinet had selections of an average suburban cafe. We ordered seafood chowder and buttermilk pancakes. Both were of good portion. Pancakes were fluffy and mascarpone was fresh. Seafood chowder had lots of what seemed like a frozen seafood mix (no traces of fish fillets). The chowder was extremely salty so we requested it to be watered down however sadly it made no difference. The chef replied that she adds a "seafood booster", whatever that is... The waitress was friendly and caring.

Really convenient cafe near the Papamoa Plaza, was always one of our favourite meeting places for a coffee. This most recent visit I ordered the BLAT which was listed with crispy bacon. Have to say the bacon was not crispy but soft and cold and also with rind and too much bread. So was quite disappointed by that and had to have their amazing carrot cake to make up for it... Everyone else in our group had nice looking meals and the outdoor seating is great even though there is not much of a view.

Lovely food and pleasant decor. Appreciate that there was no surcharge on queen's b'day weekend. Generous meals. Nice indoor and outdoor areas. Tanya

We have been coming for Saturday lunch for a few weeks and have found the food great and the service friendly and prompt. Would recommend.

If you ever come here only order something off the breakfast menu. Me and my partner have been here multiple times I have tried something off their lunch menu which was sadly disappointing. By far they have the most delicious, filling and affordable breakfasts as well as superb coffee. I usually have a chai latte and it tastes perfect - they will always mAke it to your tastes. Hungry men will get well fed as they are not shy to fill up your plate - very tasty and well presented !

I had heard Gana had "some of the best coffee around" so we decided to head there for breakfast. The first time I ordered the creamy mushrooms with haloumi, on brioche toast and was not disappointed. It was amazing! Husband enjoyed his works breakfast and our coffee was indeed delicious. The second time I ordered the corn fritters, because I figured I couldn't go wrong after the creamy mushrooms. I was wrong. The fritters, although large and tasty looking, were bland and very crumbly. I wasn't impressed at all. The coffee that day was a bit burnt as well, I think perhaps there was a new staff member on the coffee machine due to talk we heard with her and management. The last time we went to Gana, I went back to my creamy mushrooms and found they weren't as delicious as the first time. The chef was a little heavy on the seasonings and they were quite strong in flavour. All in all, it's a nice little cafe with very quick service and friendly enough staff. Consistency seems to be a bit of an issue here. It'd be great if the kinks could be ironed out to make this a real destination as Papamoa is lacking in the cafe stakes.

Reasonable atmosphere but the food was very average. The Thai curry was more like a coconut soup and the BLT was all bread.

Fabulous coffee, attentive service and great breakfast. Would definitely recommend Gana

Sadly I have been let down the last few visits by what used to be the best little cafe in Papamoa.
Food lately has been underwhelming and overpriced although the coffee is great.
Today i visited for a late lunch at 2.30pm and it seemed the cafe was already cleaning up for the day although it doesn't close till 4pm.
I ordered a Malay chicken noodle salad which had a lot of noodles, nothing I would describe as salad and 2 small cubes of chicken in it. I mentioned this to the chef I presume who told me that 'the girls who serve it don't always mix it up enough ' There was no offer of fixing it or even an apology. I suggested she might want to tell 'the girls' this and she said ' they know' .... Ridiculous...
The coffee was good but on leaving at just after 3pm the toilets ( and half the cafe) were being mopped and unusable and I couldn't use them..Seriously i could have had a better meal at Pak n Save deli bar and at least the toilet there stays open while they are.. Avoid this cafe for food at least! This is my second poor experience here in two weeks...

We have eaten her twice in the evening, as well as many times during the day.

The evening meal was not gourmet, it didn't pretend to be, but was delicious and ample and the service was great. We will return.
