Review Mediterranean Food Warehouse - Paraparaumu

Good quality Italian options and some very nice pizzas. Been there twice for dinner with family and enjoyed the meal immensely. This time the sun was setting and looks gorgeous outside with the orange clouds of the setting sun. Pizzas are particularly good. The Salmone, Chorizo, Chicken Polo were real good. The Fettuccini was excellent and Risotto quite good. The Gelatos are authentic as well. Plenty of space and with a Mediterranean Store built in, good place to stalk up on base ingredients if something catches your fancy. We were in a rush the first time and the waitress did a quick takeway of the desserts we had ordered. Picked up the Ciabatta bread while paying at the counter and my son and wife devoured it with little left for me :-)

We were pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere, the food was good but was hoping for something more rich. Disappointed that their crème brulee was sold out so we ordered panna cotta, the consistency of the panna cotta was a bit too hard to what we remember it was supposed to be

Beautiful evening again. The wine is better than any NZ wine. We had antipasti and risotto and spaghetti marinate. Everything was wonderful. Get the Chianti, you won’t regret it. Staff was very open to create vegetarian options.

Really excellent gluten free pizza! Nice little shop with a few Italian specialties too. A bit pricey but it's pretty much the only place in the area with this kind of quality Italian fare.

Came for brunch on the weekend. We had the creamy mushroom and prosciutto on bread, and the seafood pasta. Both were excellent! Highly recommend the mushrooms, it was excellent value.

Coffee hot and delicious. Aced the service! Food was delicious and is very reasonably priced. I'll definitely be back. Go there and check it out for yourself! Update August 2023: Had the best meatloaf I've ever had - and it's keto! This was so good!

The food here is some of the best in NZ. Had the salmon. Totally delicious and very well prepared, then presented. Mouth watering. Coffee is to die for. These folk make you most welcome with caring service.

We split a calzone for lunch and it was delicious and tasted very fresh! The service was very friendly and we got a few dry goods as well. I’ve been looking all over this area for dried kidney beans and they actually had them!

Divine. Will certainly be back. Kids liked it too which is always a plus!!

Delicious pizza. Kids were impressed that kids' pizza was of a decent size and was delicious. We tried margarita and salami pizza and both good quality and declared scrumptious! Seafood pasta was good with chili hit and generous amount of fish and prawns. Napoli pizza was good, and creamy mushrooms were enjoyed with the addition of prosciutto on top. Dessert was splendid. Gelato scoops very large and couldn't be finished after big main meal. Brownie and Caramel shortcake fabulous 👌. Only little letdown was some forgotten fries that arrived well after pizza was delivered.

It was the best meal out I have had in years!!! It was delightful and food was so simple yet so flavourful. Lovely staff and the best Gelato to end!!

As always, lovely! And we haven't been for awhile. Great service and a delicious pizza with a glass of wine. I really appreciate that you can do half half pizzas here. My husband and I shared a pizza which was enough for the both of us, one half 'Napoli' and the other half 'Capricciosa'. Quality ingredients. Was perfect. Mille Grazie

I have been here regularly for pizza missing the calabrese! Unfortunately last night I finally tried a pasta, pumpkin ravioli. It came swimming in oil, halfway uo bowl which I drained into side plate. Was ill on way home. Will stick to their pizza in future

When I went here, there were some serious, serious issues with this place. But Zomato deleted my review. Apparently you are not allowed to make negative comments about food in a review. So much for "objectivity"

Popped in the other day to grab a couple of pizzas on the way home ad hadn't eaten here before on the coast. We ordered the Capricciosa and the Chrizo Pizza. Service was quick and pleasant. In terms of the Pizza the base was slightly undercooked and the toppings were sparce and fairly tasteless. For the price I would have expected a lot better ingredients. Sadly will not be returning, there is much better pizza to be had in Paraparaumu.

I LOVE their bean soup - totally healthy and yummy.  Great pizzas too and the gluten free version isn't chewy like many others.  Good coffee and like browsing their deli section and little shop bit too.  Lovely, friendly owner who is always smiling.

Good coffee and some nice food. Great location with plenty of car park. Have been there 3 times and have no issue. Can't find fault but obviously not the best. Hence only 4 stars.

Me and my friend have been here many times before but this time we had a bad experience. Me and my friend both ordered spaghetti bolognese to have our meal come out with a little bit of mince on top with no flavour at all. So bland! Wasn't impressed! Then we ordered drinks so having one of the drinks be larger than the rest but still charge the same amount? Not impressed!

Went there last night with my elderly mother for dinner. I have travelled, and the pizzas we got were arguably the worst I have ever eaten, anywhere in the world. I tried two pieces - took the rest home for the dog. Ambience was terrible, as was the service. Read the other terrible reviews - they are all the same. Would never even think of going back. Avoid like the plague...

The service was pretty terrible. We were told our orders would be taken at the table but after waiting for a while we decided to get up to order instead. The food came out at different times and we had to remind the waitress about some of our drinks as they never arrived. It's such a shame because the food was so good but the service was such a let down, I don't know if I'll return or not

Had dinner here with friends last night. Was a good place for a catch up and laughs with nice spacing between tables. Had pizza which was so good! Everyone ordered something different all meals arrived at same time and were really yummy.

Extremely disappointing starter was a rip off cheese to bread ratio was pathetic and I mean three massive hunks of cheese and three small thin slices of pizza bread <br/>Had to wait then ask for our wine to be brought out mains came out and they didn't clear our starter plates or replace cutlery <br/>Lousy 18$ ravioli <br/>And you would think a pizza / pasta restaurant would have a creamy pasta dish but nope it was all tomato based <br/>Definitely will not return and hopefully they go under and we could expect a much more appealing restaurant in the future

We're new to the lower North Island and were pretty excited to see our first Mediterranean Food Warehouse at Paraparaumu. The shop looks great, the internet profile for the pizzeria created a great expectation but our experience for dinner last night was the pits!<br/><br/>The ambience is similar to a barn. We were offered food menus but not drinks. When we asked for the latter we were told they had two red wines and two white wines. No bubbles (and if there was prosecco) it wasn't offered = one very disppointed partner.<br/><br/>The red wine was pleasant but I have absolutely no idea what it was despite giving the waiter an opportunity to show/tell me... he just kept repeating it was his favourite.<br/><br/>An order for raviolli resulted in a comment that they didn't have any and we should have been told when we were seated. What... and this on a two for one pasta night? The substitute risotto was watery and my Mediteranean pizza the only saving grace from a pretty dismal experience. <br/><br/>We wont be back and the $5 tip in my pocket very firmly stayed there.

I am a regular at this pizzeria and have always found the food of superior quality to other places, good range of choices and the menu does vary so there is usually something new to try on offer. The portions are reasonable value for money especially taking into account the quality of the ingredients. The service is always friendly and reasonably efficient... great atmosphere relaxed yet swish. There are many regular customers whom I noticed time an time again.....

Extremely disappointed. We went on the 2 for 1 pasta night and it sure showed that they didn't like giving a pasta meal for free. The ravioli pasta we ordered was different to what was served and we were told that they mix and match???? Ordered pumpkin/spinach and received cheese. The spag bol had a tiny bit of mince atop spaghetti. Could have done better at home. Left hungry and went for coffee and dessert elsewhere. Won't be returning to use my entertainment book voucher.

Had a meal there last night with a friend. The food was great the service was awful. We arrived and were served quickly ordered our mains and a drink. We ate our mains and finished our drinks and sat for an hour and and half with no one removing our plates or asking if we wanted dessert or another drink. We got up went and ordered dessert at counter which when it came they removed our plates but no offer of another drink or coffee or anything !! So if you want a cheap night out this is a bonus I guess !! I must point out restaurant was not busy and they had enough staff that service should have been much much better. Come on paraparaumu you can do much better.

I have been here on a number of occasions and the food has always been of a high standard. The quiche in particular is superb. I used a voucher and was most impressed. The service was prompt and friendly, the platter generous and the Pollo Pleasure and Tuscan Dream Pizzas light and tasty. We needed a doggy bag. The corkage of $5 for a fine pinot was reasonable. I am amazed this place has had negative reviews, but even the finest fail to please all of the people all of the time (eg my favourite Chow in Tory Street, or even Logan Brown).<br/>Well done Mediterranean Warehouse !! Excellent.

Ate today using a deal voucher, also ordered extra because we had the girls. Service was efficient and very friendly. Pizza's were delicious and the pasta had the right mix of seafood. We left full and satisfied...have eaten at the Newtown one as well and the pizzas etc are the same..in the future.our trips back to palmy from Wellington we'll be stopping here for takeaways. Cheers

Had an absolutely wonderful meal with my wife and two sons.<br/> the Pizzas were outstanding and the antipasto platter was superb. To be truthful, i did not expect much due to the previous reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. The owner( I think ) made us feel welcome and ensured that we had a good time.<br/> The staff were pleasant and thoughtful. The dessert (gelato for my family and the cheese cake for me) was superb combined with lovely background music.<br/> A place to visit with the family. Watch out though...the large pizza is really large... not a "Dominos" large

Went here this evening, there were four of us. We ordered 2 bruschetta's and 2 large Pizzas. One Bruschetta was 2 large pieces and the other was 1 and a half pieces which was kind of odd. The Pizzas were really good as per usual. <br/><br/>We ordered 2 Torte for dessert and they were kind of crappy. Both had soggy bases and the cream was ejected straight from a can. Really sub-par.<br/><br/>Overall passable.

I last used this cafe about a year ago and found the service poor. My latest quick lunch was very enjoyable and there had been a 100% lift in the service provided. Not sure if there was new management but the staff were well trained, well mannered and professional. I think that some pizza lovers who are only used to the Pizza Hut may fine the genuine Italian pizzas a little light on toppings.

Our first impression of this pizzeria. We had a deal voucher; glad we didn't pay full price! Worst Marinara Pizza I have ever had. Lots of calamari and token amounts of prawns and mussels (to give them their due the seafood wasn't tough). Anaemic tomato sauce, no cheese, no other veg. Filling sliding over the base which was soggy in the middle with a wide ring around the outside with no topping at all. Needless to say we won't be going back.

This comment is being left a couple of months after event. This had long been a favourite weekend lunch time haunt of ours. More recently it had become obvious that there appeared to be new owners and service had slipped - however you always give new owners time to come to grips with their new business. The last time we where there had ordered a brownie off a full tray of fresh brownies to go with our coffee. One brownie was substantially smaller than ever other one on the tray and we specifically asked not to be given that one. On delivery of our order it became evident we had been given the smallest one and checking the tray this was correct. On asking for a replacement was told not possible as it has been served to us. On reiterating that we specifically had not to be served the one we received... very very reluctantly we were given a replacement. <br/><br/>Easy to get customers - not easy to get back ones that have been lost. We have not been back since our last experience.

I was very disappointed, my hubby and I are foodies, going here was by mistake as our original destination for pizza was closed, but we were keen to try it. The service was very poor. I ordered the spag bowl and it was not good, no flavour and a bit of tomato. The pizza was nice, the base was YUM! But overall we would not be going back there for Pizza.

we stopped tonight to take advantage of the two for one deal on a Wednesday night pasta and elected to get a takeaway as opposed to eating in(which we have done on the occasion)and it has usually been quite good.<br/>My partner got the spaghetti bowl which had a tiny amount of mince on what appeared to be countdown bought spaghetti with no sauce through the spaghetti leaving the only taste of the spaghetti for the miserable amount of flavor from the mince.<br/>My dish was the seafood pasta which had a decent amount of seafood with again very little sauce and the pasta was pene pasta which again looked like it was fresh from COuntdown also.<br/>Would we go back again--No unfortunately not !!!!

Salmon, Capers &amp; Rocket... What a combination to set the tastebuds alight.... The best Pizza's on the Kapiti Coast!<br/>Fantastic service, always smiling staff and consistant quality of food.. I would reccomend this restaurant to anybody who enjoys fine Italian foods, wines, beer and hospitality.. Read the wall pictures too... Excellent!

Normally we come past on Mondays when they have the two for one pizza deal, I usually have the Margaritta Buffula and my wife has the chicken pizza, the pizzas are always great and we dont have to wait too long and the staff are friendly, the gelato is to die for and they always overfill our cup for us, A meal out for two for under $25.00 is a bargin and the food always consistant. As a fellow cafe owner this place is great, the only minus is the spartan decor.
