If I could do six stars I would! Jumped on the bikes and headed to this amazing little place in the middle of over there. Was a gorgeous scenic trip over and well worth it when we got there. It was pretty quiet when we got there but this place is obviously no secret as by the time we left...she was certanily filling up. The girls were awesome being friendly and accommodating. And I loved the community feel decor. I was surprised at the speed of the food coming out as as we turned up so did at least a dozen other people and no one seemed to have to wait long. As for the food... HOLD ME BACK...this is only the second time in my life I have ordered steak with eggs and the eggs WERE COOKED PROPERLY. Not a bit of eggsnot to be seen so that's another star aswell!! Although a little pricey I thought the meals were delicious and will definitely be on the list to revisit sometime!

Very friendly owners and staff, we visited on a Wednesday night when they have their pool and darts competition free to participate with $100 for the winner really awesome.
We ate dinner and enjoyed some good games of pool and darts with the locals very friendly
I had the cheese burger and chips which was lovely but I should’ve chose the loaded wedges that our kids got they were soo good
Definitely recommended for anyone in the area

Great local pub close to the Waihi Waterfall. Friendly staff and great pub grub. The food is served promptly and the beer is cold. They even had a good house Rosé on ice. We had the platter - a lot of food for two - would be great for 4 at lunch time. Definitely a destination in itself!

Very nice place for a beer and a feed. The meals are very generous and at a reasonable price, just like the drinks. Friendly staff. The Ulysses bike riders had an awesome time here during the week.

We stopped by after visiting Waihi Falls. A great late lunch/early dinner. Both the Kiwi burger and Chicken burger (with bacon of course) were really tasty. We appreciated they let us take the dogs into to back outdoor area too. Lovely place to stop.

What a Steak Burger this was! Large piece of tender scotch fillet with a perfect amount of salad and homemade dressing. Came with an egg which I gave to my partners Kiwi Burger which added to his enjoyment. He said BEST burger he has had in ages. He thought it was a homemade meat pattie which I might have to try next time. Chips were a little over done but this made for more crunchies as I call them. They warned it may be a while as they were short staffed and meals had been a bit delayed earlier but by the time my partner put a few songs on the jukebox and I got drinks we didn't wait too long. PS no surcharge for Stat Holiday.
Forgot to get a photo but honestly the steak in the burger would match most restaurants Steak Meal infact thicker than most and so so tender.

A group of us turned up on our motorbikes and desended on the unsuspecting kitchen for meals. They took us all in and provided us with a fine feed. My chicken burger was devine! Thankyou to the staff of this fine establishment

Cannot fault the community of Pongaroa, the locals are very friendly and welcoming. The pub staff (Paula, Melissia and Mrs Monk ) are extremely nice and accommodating, the meals were absolutely fabulous and very generous.we really enjoyed our brief time time thank you for making us feel welcome. We will be back
