Chicken nibbles and chips were amazing! Loved it! Only let down was the wait time... having to wait almost 45mins and realizing our food was just sitting there for 5minutes as the other staff didnt know that was our order.

It maybe not high in ratings or in their english but every people has a good taste in food at chicken shack its worth coming here to check it out chicken shack has never let me down in their nazigorang a hot chilli of how hot you want it fried rice with your meats of choice it beats normal fried rice any time you have to get use to it before you get to realize you've just tasted something you have been looking for years since the takeaway has been opened its worth your money and waiting time being open late in the morning i could treat myself twice a day if i can very delicious nazigorang on your second try you

The Chicken Shack. A Porirua icon since forever. A fish and chip shop and more catering for the wider, diversified community that Porirua has serving up delightful deep fried delights, burgers, chop suey (Inc. Taro version), curries and let's not forget their Chinese food selection.
They are the one place in Porirua where you can count on getting food in the wee hours of the morning if you are feeling peckish or returning from a hard night of work/partying.
While the food is not fantastic and the staff do not have the best language communication, they do work extremely hard and always have a smile on their face. Their portions are very generous for the price you pay and along with their very stratigic opening times this keeps the people coming.
The shack does get very busy around dinner time so if possible hold off going there around that time as there is usually a long wait. At other times though the staff are very quick and efficient and it's not long before you get your tasty treats.
Top notch cheeseburger. They have perfectly melted cheese and tasty grilled beef patties; and at a really low price.
I drive past heaps of similar fast food restaurants on my way to this place. But none of them can match their quality. Well worth the long drive.
Always our first stop after a hard night partying :) LOVE how they are open until the small hours and are friendly even when you are obviously drunk ;) Food is always fresh, hot and delicious (even when sober). Cannot rate the Chicken Shack highly enough :)
Huge portion and tasty.. recommend super- burger. Chinese take away meals. Returned few times already.

It looks like an run of the mill takeaway place. The chicken burger was one of the best I have ever had. I thought I must have been stupid hungry when I son Said "why do all the awesome places have to be so far away?" Nothing unique spices wise. Just really well cooked and fresh. Bit of a wait, but Definitely worth it.
Good food and good service especially the nibbles are to die for
A great choice for an early morning feed but you may have to wait up to an hour, if going at that time. Yummy egg burgers at 2am in the morning and very affordable. Prices may have adjusted slightly but you will definitely get your money's worth!
Wide range of food which is tasty - there is however a long wait at times so I recommend to call to order your food.
