Friendly and helpful staff/cashier in selecting salmon cuts. Was there half hour before closing and theres still loads of people as its a fine sunny day. Wide selection of salmon and its really fresh. Lots of seating available outside with great view of Mt Cook and Lake Pukaki.
Nice sashimi, recommend adding some pickled ginger for extra deliciousness. It's not cheap but probably the best view while eating salmon I've ever had š didn't have any bad experiences here. I would say it's worth a visit if you like salmon or just a rest stop to enjoy the view.

This shop overlooks the beautiful lake pukaki and views of Aoraki & Mt cook, serving both as a visitor information centre & salmon shop. A box of farmed freshwater salmon costs $45 for 500g, which is a decent amount to share between 4 people. Thereās also packaged salmon for pan seared or grille for a home cooked meal. The salmon is quite nice and somewhat different to Australian salmon š£
The shop is tiny which sells salmon, hot drinks and souvenirs. Thereās also a small high top table capable of max. 6 people around the table. Iām giving minus 1 star for lack of internal seating area especially for those windy cold days where everyone is coming to enjoy some salmon and looking for a warm place to sit. While outside provided tables with lake views, itās more suited for a warm summers day. As it gets quite windy and cold, you wonāt find enjoyable unless you love chilly weather.
Mt cook alpine is a must stop shop on your way to Mt cook or at least to try New Zealand bred salmon.
The best salmon sashimi Iāve ever had. I wasnāt a raw salmon person but THIS SALMON changed me. Overlooking Lake Pukaki and Mt Cook and the snowy mountains, while enjoying this incredibly fresh salmon, what an amazing experience. Their salmon sashimi comes in two sizes, itās best to call and reserve before going because they can be sold out pretty fast. Enjoying salmon sashimi by the lake would always be one of my best experiences in New Zealand.
Really yummy and fresh salmon š£ with a fantastic view, one of the freshest salmon weāve tried, staff was kind to even give ice packs with the takeaway salmon.
The salmon sashimi was absolutely delicious and very well priced. The staff were friendly and helpful with information on Mount Cook and the surrounding areas.

Good to get fresh salmon and eat out near the lake Pukaki. Good scenery with fresh food. They donāt serve cooked salmon but raw only and beverages. Thereās a small photo gallery where you can take amazing photo with Mt Cook at your background
Definitely come for the view of mt cook. Easy lunch choice. Salmon is fresh and tasty: had roe, smoked and sashimi.

I arrived around 3:15pm and they delivered more sashimi at 3:45pm. It is worth it to wait for it.

Really interesting location to eat salmon sashimi. It's located next to an information centre and had awesome views to mount cook and the snowy mountain ranges, as well as the pristine lake. Absolutely a must to stop by, even if it's just for the view :)
