My hubby and I had dinner here, such a beautiful, tender, delicious eye fillet steak meal, and the lamb shank meal melts in your mouth.

Fantastic meal tonight (Sat 16/9) that was spur of the moment. Chef was able to make my meal Gluten Free easily for me. The steak was cooked to perfection with the right amount of seasoning, the veges lovely and the chimichuri sauce was devine!!!! We will definitely be back š

Was passing through Putaruru and needed to fuel the stomach. I was looking for something low carb/keto, and The Cook definitely delivered! I ordered the The Ultimate Bunless Burger, and my bf ordered the Lord of the meats pizza. Friendly service and and great food! Thanks!

We didnāt take any photos because we loved the food so much we wolfed it all down quickly. We ordered the lamb shank and bunless veggie burger, the cheese burger and fish of the day. All are very nice and the staff are super friendly. Highly recommended
We've been here a few times for the trivia quizzes but most recently for dinner with friends from overseas, we were all impressed by the warm welcome from the staff and the excellent service. The meals were a generous size and all delicious, I had the pork belly which was done perfectly. A good selection of wines and spirits in a cozy "corner pub" atmosphere.
Can't t fault the food, was all delicious, steak was cooked to perfection. Staff were attentive. It was a relaxing atmosphere.
Would recommend the food hands down.
What an awesome night we had! Our matre d was so helpful, going above and beyond by going to the bottle store to purchase the drink that I requested - which they usually serve but were out of stock - and our meals were excellent! We chose something that wasn't on the menu that we have had from there in the past, and were given exactly what we wanted. Our dessert was well presented and delicious as well. Thank you Rick for an awesome night. You are such an asset to this place. We are very lucky to have a place such as this in our town. Hopefully this standard continues.

Will definitely be back. Well priced, delicious roast dinner, omgish pudding was definitely the cherry on the top. Both host was very polite and friendly. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
