We were literally swept off our feet but you have to budget for this incredible experience!
Went for the set menu with was both super fresh, delightful to the eye, plenty and yummy but we ended up ordering seconds just to enjoy all the goodness a little more.
Great choice of wines and sake that should suit every budget.

We walked in at 6pm on a whim and they were able to seat us.
The wait staff were welcoming and friendly. We ordered miso soup, salmon nigiri, wagyu aburi, tempura king prawns and the pork spare ribs. The sushi was so delicious we went back for more. It was a wonderful experience and will definitely be back.
Exquisite. We had aburi salmon, edamame, yakitori prawn and scallops, agedashi tofu, karaage, yuzu catalana and green tea fondant. Hot towl to finish. Service is outstanding.

First thing we noticed is the Japanese staff! Always a great sign at a Japanese restaurant. There's a reason why this establishment has such high reviews.

Arigato gozaimasu to all Tatsumi staff last Saturday night! It was a wonderful experience and food tastes great! We especially loved the seared wagyu beef! The braised beef cheeks were super tender! Karaage chicken were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! Cooked to perfection! Hope to come back again someday! 😋
It was a lovely experience. The staff were very polite. The food was well presented and delicious.
For me, a little more explanation about the food and wine would have bumped it up a star (beyond stating the obvious such as reading aloud the label on the bottle).

The best restaurant I've tried in New Zealand, at a surprisingly affordable price. Impeccable service. We tried the QUEEN OMAKASE Sharing Plates and it was amazing. They were able to accommodate gluten-free dietary requests. We will be back!

Me and my friend went for fancy dining and we were surprised how good it was. For every seafood-freak out there it's the way to go.

Considering that past reviews were consistently stellar, I had high expectations and Tatsumi delivered and executed their dinner services flawlessly. We dined on 21st June 2022 and needless to say, we had never enjoyed fine dining as a family to such an extent, especially my dad who had never liked fine dining. The highlights for us were the Taro gnocchi, the baked oysters with yuzu miso and the blue cod parcels. Even the kara-age was tender and moist on the inside, crunchy on the outside. Sashimi and nigiri were fresh and melt-in-your-mouth. We loved the baked oysters so much that we ordered twice.
In hindsight, we should have ordered the matcha fondant instead. Having said that, the green tea affogato was still satisfying. Matcha sauce was prepped fresh in front of diners.
Thank you Tatsumi for such an enjoyable dinner on our last day at QZN. Will return to savour your tantalising morsels again.
