The menu is reasonably priced. The flavours and texture of the dishes we had were reasonable. The venue is quite a good setting for the diners who enjoy social gathering with families and friends.

In my opinion, Waku Waku’s tasting menu has the greatest value for money out of all fine dining in Auckland. For $75 per person, you get 5 courses including a main of your choice. The sashimi was very fresh, every dish was nicely presented. The starters were amazing! Included a combination of their signature dishes. The atmosphere and ambience were just on point. Strongly recommend this place if you’re celebrating a special occasion. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the dessert green tea… it had a strong vanilla taste to it but not sweet. It didn’t really go well with the green-tea in my opinion.

Amazing food with a great atmosphere. Remuera has needed some new modern restaurants for so long, and Wakuwaku provides one. Service was great, but it was the food that stood out. The price for a set menu, was also great value.

I recently visited this Japanese restaurant and was impressed by the interior. The atmosphere was calming and serene, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. The deep-fried dishes were especially delicious, and the gluten-free teriyaki chicken was a standout. It came with a subtle scent of charcoal, which added to the overall experience. The price for lunch was totally acceptable, and the attentive staff provided excellent service throughout my meal. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique Japanese dining experience and will definitely come back again!

Booked slightly late, and I didn’t select their 1st anniversary menu when booking. I came to try their normal menu however was handed a 1st anniversary menu and seems like all customer was having the same menu and food. Was a bit disappointed as they didn’t ask about allergy at the table. We ended up have no choice but eat what we don’t usually like. And later we also got left out our dessert. I Reckon the comm can be improved. Otherwise, food is good, fancy seating and interior. Great cocktail and mocktail. Hope to try their normal menu and hope to see some service improvement too.

The food was stunning and delicious, the staff and service faultless. Our table was one of the best, we could see the chefs at work and an array of wine and Japanese whiskeys, sakes on the adjacent shelves. The price was so reasonable. Oishii

Excellent Japanese. We have been there twice and the team always make sure your meal is memorable. Each dish has been carefully designed, paying respect to traditional Japanese cooking as well as sourcing local in-season ingredients. Highly recommended.

Beautiful meal at this newly opened modern Japanese restaurant. Highly recommended. We enjoyed a selection of entres - Wagyu tartare (my fav, tender marinated raw beef), prawn croquette (2nd fav, good bite and crunchy), Chawanmushi egg custard with beef cheek (excellent flavour), tempura oyster mushroom and pickled cucumber. For the main we had the sirloin (my fav, nicely cooked as medium rare served with black garlic puree and a dab of wasabi), the grilled Jikabiyaki lamb shoulder, and the pork tonkatsu served with curry sauce to pour over (very crunchy). Dessert we share the matcha tart with matcha ice cream and white choc, and the black sesame cake with black sesame crisps and plum (such a good flavour if you like sesame). They also have a short list of exclusive sake, I got the yuzu sake which is so tasty and aromatic. It is served overfilling in a wooden box - a very interesting experience. A small restaurant so booking advised.
