Great place great service. Meals arrived quickly and were cooked to perfection. Poached eggs were perfect! Definitely a place we will return next time we are in town.
On a side note the booths are quite narrow to get into so recommend anyone with mobility difficulties to use the chairs and tables instead.

The best coffee in town, surrounded by a creative and inspiring environment. ZACK is the barista you want in your life, he makes amazing coffees and always has the sweetest smile and attitude. Definitely recommend!

Loved this cafe. Breakfast (mine granola with yogurt, fruit & compote, my husband eggs & bacon) was so good we came back for supper vege salad/beef tachos /- both delicious. Coffee excellent too.

Have been warmly welcomed here all week long. The food has been brilliant - the chicken wraps for lunch were delicious, the coffee was delicious and well done.
But the staff were phenomenal, warm, engaging and enthusiastic and generously genuine each time I visited. What struck me is that when I ordered my coffee to go, they’d walk around from behind the counter and to me, to hand me my coffee - most cafes just put it on the counter and make you come to them. These guys are always looking at how they can come to you, even though it’s small - it made an impression and I’d definitely recommend them.
Thanks for making my trip to Rotorua a pleasant one team.

Love this place. Its cozy, people are friendly and the food was healthy. Loved how everything was presented including tje little flower in my salad. Great views while you have lunch and amazing menu when you're hungry or just want a light snack on the Opp.

We've been twice now and the coffee has been consistently delicious - best we've found in Rotorua so far.
Had breakfast as well today which was also yum - the 'Green Zip' and 'Little Italy'. Only improvement would have been if the Little Italy (creamy mushrooms on toast) came on nicer bread.

Only went in for a coffee as wed unfortunately already had breakfast. Really busy but managed to get a table. Coffee as usual was on point, ordered a mocha and soy latte. love the consistency over the last 18 years.

Tasty filling portions, a friendly chilled atmosphere, $4 for a flat white + the best playlist of any cafe in NZ make this the prime place for a coffee break in Rotorua. The mound of wedges, with cheese, bacon, salsa and sour cream for $11.50 is perfect for a winter day.

Poor attitude from waitress on entering the cafe. Ordered 2 coffees, 3 breakfasts. The food was delicious but both coffees were burnt. Returned 1 coffee, waitress questioned me. Gave us another 1 which was really nice but waitress' attitude was still poor. I am a local that is usually very fond of Zippys but today I felt very disappointed and won't be returning for a while.

Bit of an institution here in Rotorua. Staff are friendly and professional. The food is standard cafe fare and very enjoyable. There is a long list of bagel combos available although I have never selected those. <br/>Good coffee. Not a bad breakfast spot.

Just finished breakfast at Zippy. I would have taken photos of my Eggs Bene but it looked so good I didn't want to waste the time to take a picture before filling my face. It was excellent, eggs were perfect, bagel perfect, hollandaise perfect, coffee perfect. I'm coming back tomorrow...

Superb coffee and service. Eggs bene cooked to perfection, prices are very competitive, atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. Ordering at the counter from a board rather than a menu seems a trend in rotorua that non locals must adjust to!

Been here about 10 times over a 3week stay in rotorua. I was never disappointed with the coffee or service. A friend got an iced coffee which she thought would be an icey frappe type but it was with icecream, cream and marshmallows. Simple misunderstanding. Food friends have ordered always was well presented, fresh and fairly tasty. Well recommended. Thank you guys

Zippy Central has long been an important part of the cafe culture in Rotorua. Popular with mountain bikers it was one of the first cool cafés (when people got bored with Fat Dog). The coffee used to be pretty good too. I think we just went there for the last time today. How long does it take to make coffee? We waited nearly 20 minutes for two take away lattes and the cafe wasn't even particularly busy and for at least 5 minutes no one was even making coffee. The coffee we received was too hot and had no flavour and was $4.50! More expensive than coffee in Wellington. That wasn't the first time we'd waited so long for coffee - time after time they're soooooo slow.

I've been going to Zippys for about 8 plus years. It never fails to deliver. Bagels are sizeable, staff are friendly and energetic. There is a really buzzy vibe to the place. It's getting a little on the pricey side these days but the coffee is strong, the smoothies (Jackberry all the way!) are filling and the iced chocolates are divine. Highly recommend, give it a try! Pancakes and french toast are decent too!

Something has changed since my last visit, it seems as if no one cares any more there's no passion and i cant be bothered waiting 20 minutes plus for an average coffee it used to be amazing coffee but the not only have they dropped the ball i think they put down the anchor too

Yep 5 stars and totally worth every one of em! This place is fantastic. great coffee, excellent food and fantastic service in a relaxed setting. I have been here maybe a dozen times over the last few years and have never found anything to complain about. Love it.

This place has to have the BEST coffee, and the best service in Rotorua. After spending the day mountain biking in the Redwood forest, we always stop in at Zippys. I having been travelling to Rotorua at least once a month for about 9 years, and there are other places I have tried, but none match the Zippys experience. Great food too, lots of it, and at a reasonable price. Sorry I don't know their names (I should by now!) but the blonde lady who makes the coffee, and the "DUUUDE" with the tattoos who serves us are AWESOME!!
