Amazing burgers! Exactly what we needed after a day of tramping, would drive up from Christchurch just to have another! We have recommended it as a stop to everyone we know who might be driving through St Arnaud

Best cafe. Fresh handmade bread, handmade sausages, nice music, great coffee, good service.

Good spot. Serves kiwi beers/crafties on tap and super hot coffee which was just what i needed. Food was mostly pub grub and service was attentive and items came in good time.

Well, as part of our Lake Rotoiti visit, a lunch has to be part of proceedings. Dine Hard serves a pretty mean Fish Burger and Chips. A really enjoyable time to have a break from driving..

Wicked place in a wicked location!! Coffee was absolutely delicious (soy mocha) and the we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals!! -Chicken burger and Veg Burger served with crunchy delicious fries! Oh and that tomato sauce was 🤤🤤🤤. Service was lovely, we will definitely be returning in the near future! Highly recommend this place!

Went with family to eat lunch. Originality put together dishes mostly with local ingredients. Good choice of desert cakes for eat in or take away. Very nice to be able to talk to chef about the charcoal buns who was also willing to share his knowledge. Very nice atmosphere and warm on a cool day. Good choice of beverages and good coffee in a very nice cafe with nice staff.

Great spot for delicious food. Beautiful views, plenty of seating for larger groups. Loved the beef and beet salad and homemade chai latte blend. They also have a gluten and dairy free menu. The staff is very accommodating and knowledgeable about dietary needs and allergen cross-contamination, and the waiter went out of his way to make sure I knew I wasn't bothering him with my questions.

As we drove through St Arnaud on our way back to Nelson, I had a car full of hungry mouths and the only option was pies in the local store. When I saw the sign for the clinker cafe I didn't think much, I thought it would be typical low quality small town food (I am from Auckland remember). But boy was I surprised by the service and the food- it was fantastic. Locally sourced ingredients, large serving sizes, authentic service and a view to die for. What else could I ask? TL;DR A surprising little gem that you should definitely try out.

My wife and I stopped at Clinkers Cafe for a late lunch. The cafe was tidy and comfortable with very good toilets. Staff very friendly and helpful and professional. I had Calzone - huge and very tasty and my wife hardware lamb salad, also exceptional. We are now looking at our plans so we can visit again on our way home from Wanaka. Highly recommended.

Quite the find when I was not expecting to see much in St Arnaud - quality food in a very scenic location, with friendly and attentive staff. The chef is highly experienced and has introduced recipes from his experience all over the world. The food is excellent.
