Review The Wade - Silverdale

Was a great place to take our family including kids, prices are like any bar n restaurant, a little over average. But was good food, great service and comfortable atmosphere. My family used to go there when they were younger, they say its nothing like how it used to be. But was still a good vibe.

I love The Wade. Oliver is an amazing host and the food is absolutely superb. I’ve been there 3 times in the last 3 weeks and have enjoyed the experience. The only negative is the heating. Our table of 8 commented on how cold it was. When I approached the staff they explained the heating wasn’t working. Sadly until it is summer or heating restored I can’t take friends or family as it’s just too cold. Congratulations though to the Owners for employing such incredible staff.

Love these old style pubs. Came here for lunch with my mum and daughter. Lovely backyard for the kids to play while the mums enjoy a wine in the sun and the staff were lovely. Will definitely be back in summertime :)

Great historic building, with a nice variety of indoor and outdoor areas. We found the service swift and friendly, though the venue was a bit too quiet to have any atmosphere. Live music would work really well here.

Had a great lunch here with a group of 24. Ribs were excellent and everyone else enjoyed their meals. Atmosphere and service great. Would definitely go again.

Lovely spot to sit outside. Enjoy the sun and have some good food with fabulous staff very polite and attentive.

I don't know where they get their mussels from but they were not good at all. These had black shells with hardly anything in them. Nothing like the wonderful green shelled NZ mussels.

Love the prawns and the ribs They also do a delicious streak special Highly recommend if you are looking for a chill place to have lunch Nice and warm in the winter time

Went there for our mothers birthday...she ordered seafood platter...very disappointed the salmon was huge piece on plate and it was dry. Feel the meals are over priced...the waiting staff are very polite and quick to serve us.....

Just fabulous, food is great.Mon to Thurs they do express lunch at $13 my husband loves their seafood chowder and fish and chips and the mussels are fab. Its a great meeting place and there is loads of space for families kids can run around outside. We just love it might go there again today

Great day with all the bikes. Shame the food was very poor and the music average at best. The overall atmosphere was awesome though.

Great share platters....the Green Curry Mussells were to die for! Awesome having so much space for kids to play. Will def go back!

Poorly served up for a 30 doller meal my chips soggy in a wet plate with steak and egg no salad

I find they have very stable pool tables. Well done. Will definitely be back!

We had a large group and were well looked after by staff .all the meals were timed together and tasted great.

The Wade is damn lackin. I've been here so many times and used to love the food and everything about this place. Recently went back after not going for a couple months and was very underwhelming, the place is empty and it used to be buzzing with people and kids outside but it was just dead. The service was very slow and the food took ages to come and when it came it was all cold and came at different times. No wonder the place is dead it's just shitty now. don't recommend going 3/10 x

Was so excited to come here with my whole family as my parents come here for dinner 1-2 Times a month. We were the only ones dining in that night and the food took FOREVER to come and was cold when it arrived. My grandmas dinner didn’t come until everyone had finished and hers had an eggshell in it AND they forgot a component of her dish. Won’t be coming back due to how overpriced their food is and the fact they only have 1 vegetarian dish on their menu.

Came here for a hens do and it was perfect, we sat outside on the big grass area and had shelter which was really nice, ordered food and drinks the food came out so fast and was delicious and hot.  The hospitality was wonderful would 100% recommend and go back again :)

Just had our work end of year luncheon here. We were a large group of people to cater for so props to the staff for getting the food out on time but...we had preordered to make things easier but food started arriving before the people had even arrived! My poor colleague who had ordered the all day breakfast was welcomed to a plate of congealed, greasy cold eggs, bacon and sausage. One colleague was treated to a large platter of assorted stone like bargain bread accompanied by two tiny dips of hummus and pesto yum, yum...NOT! That is not a bread and dip platter suitable for a restaurant or one I’d serve at home. The desserts looked good although I personally didn’t have one, but all and all I found my dining experience to be very disappointing. The service was friendly though, I will say that much. I’ll be back for maybe a wine and some chips but that’s about it I’m afraid.

Came here for a drink and nibbles on a Friday after work.  We had the Asian platter which had a nice selection, i really enjoyed the money bags.

Ordered the ravioli special , it was amazing . We also came few weeks back and ordered crispy pork belly special with roast kumara.best pork belly we ever had ! Great atmosphere and good music . Now they have great special dishes .. love this place !

I ordered a vege stack which was delicious; the flavours all complemented each-other and the halloumi was cooked exactly how it should be, however meals prices were a bit steep for a pub but definitely your money's worth, I shared a creme brûlée cheese cake with a mango sorbet, which was the highlight of my visit, never have I been impressed with cheese cake before but this was the best cheese cake I have ever tasted hands down, dense but smooth and the sorbet was refreshing it paired with the cheesecake perfectly, the atmosphere was loud/busy but it was nice having dinner with a live band playing outside. The staff were helpful and polite, will be back here for sure overall very pleasant experience enjoyed with family!

What a great pub. Went for a drive & stopped here for lunch. Beer was cold. Service friendly & live music. Bouncy castle for kids if you have any but not over run by kids. Locals were lovely & even shared their mussels with us. Definitely order them if you go beautifully cooked in curry sauce. We had non-seafood platter which was generous, 3 cheeses, salami, salmon with old style little onions, olives & stuffed little peppadews. Will come here again.

Too expensive for the food supplied, when a complaint was made, the chief was rude to customers. Pass, there are much better places to eat at with better prices .

Only been once so far, but we will be back. Awesome backyard for kids and plenty of other space for those without. Friendly staff, and well priced food.

Always great pub grub as in pub food, come here with my parents quite a bit for dinner. I always enjoy the food, the burgers are great, bacon sammie is good, my dad loves the fish bites and wedges always good service and I've had breakfast before too here for a hot rod event and that was really nice even though there's not much to choose from for breakfast it was tasty overall always a gray time when I come to the Wade

Typical pub joint. No complaints with service. Had the scotch fillet and wife had the lamb rack salad. Fillet could've used a wee bit more spices but otherwise cooked well. Chips were great with aioli. Lamb rack salad was even better - flavorful and tender.

Visited today for lunch. <br/>Very slow service and only one poor Dude taking all the orders and bringing out the food, which I must say he personally did an awesome job!<br/>But why I ask was there only one person on over a lunch time in the holiday period?<br/>Very poor staffing!<br/>The Curry on the Special board was very poor, bland with no flavour at all, and was just meat and sauce.<br/>Lamb had to be sent back as it was under cooked.

Came here for a Xmas party dinner stop.. We had a lot of 'party plates' with ribs, chicken, mussels, samosa, wontons, chips, antipasto plater. We were are large group so it was great to have a separate function room although the negatives...the 'warmer' in the room was full of fat, plates on table were dirty and the food was freezer supermarket variety.. The mussels and ribs were yummy but everything else was meh. Staff were great!

If your looking for a 'special celebration' venue this could cater well. Tavern ambiance divided into sections allowing enough privacy without crashing another party. Great out door area that is perfect for kids. Basic hearty menu eg wedges, chips and aioli etc. Loads of parking. Overall good experience.

Unfortunately the wait staff let the chef down. Great food that came out in a timely manner considering we were a large group. <br/><br/>Service was poor, we were pretty much having to do the waitress job. Had to go to the bar numerous times to get service. But it was the basics that they still couldn't achieve. Staff would drop drinks at the table and walk away empty handed, didn't even notice the numerous dirty plates on the tables. What topped the night was when I went up to the bar to ask for the dirty dishes to be cleared, the waitress was standing behind the bar txting. <br/><br/>I understand that the wade is not a fine dining restaurant but manners and a great attitude are a must in this industry. Was a shame as we came in to celebrate a birthday. But our table spent half the night either having to ask for service or talking about how shocking the service was. <br/><br/>This is not the first time we have issues with service. The Wade was our go to place to dine, unfortunately we will not return until service improves. <br/><br/>

Had a few dinners and a brunch at the Wade.  Great food and service...very casual dress and kiddie friendly. Brunch sitting outside on the deck was lovely over summer.   We'll be back.

Have been to this place twice. Both times I have been suitably impressed with our meals. I really love their 3 cheese garlic bread. Would recommend.

Checked out the Wade for the first time last night, the meals were delicious, I had the eye fillet and my partner the salmon, both cooked perfectly. Dessert delicious too. Friendly service and nice atmosphere, will be back!!

Went with friends for lunch and I cant fault the food or service however i really do think it was the most expensive Eggs Benedict that I have even eaten. That is my only complaint...the prices. Otherwise a nice place and nice friend staff.

Had lunch last year and thought it was lovely. Went for dinner on Saturday night with two friends and was most disappointed. Ordered Pork Belly with NO GRAVY and what did I get, Gravy!!!!! Commented to the waitress who went and checked with the chef. Came back, apologized said chef had made a mistake but nothing they could do except offer another plate to transfer pork onto. The pork was overcooked on the bottom and was dry, so not a great experience this time. Thought they were quite offhand so probably won't go back.

What an amazing place! Definately a stunner inside.<br/>Went here for my birthday in December with 9 other family members. Service was excellent, food was brought out at the same time and was very yummy! Highly recommended for a nice meal out.

Went there with a few friends and really enjoyed the atmosphere and food.<br/>Very friendly and efficient staff.<br/>I had a seafood chowder and it was one of the best I have had. Plenty of seafood - rich and delicious.<br/>My friends were equally satisfied with their meals.<br/>Will definitely go back there.
