Beef black bean and combination fried rice were really tasty. It is the only Asian takeaway in Tairua & has a very limited Chinese menu. Abit overpriced & took over 30 minutes minutes for our order but l'd happily come back as food was really good.
Excellent fish and chips. The fish is very fresh. Chips are very good, golden brown, slightly crispy outside and soft inside. Fried rice is delicious!!
We ordered two burgers and one piece of hoki. The fish was nice and fresh, the coating of the fish was very crisp and had good glad flavor. Also they seasoned the fish with lemon pepper which tasted great. The fries that we were served were perfectly cooked, crispy and golden on the outside and nice soft potato on the inside. We ordered one beef burger and one chicken fillet burger. The beef patties was nicely cooked and seasoned and had a great flavor, similarly the chicken fillet was cooked nicely with a crisp coating. All in all highly recommend and the ratings don't do this place justice.
Headed here after Surf and Sand (across the road) told there would be a 30-minute wait. BEST DECISION EVER. Aarons served up huge serving of super hot fresh fish and chips within five minutes! Lovely staff and honestly the most delicious fish I've had in ages, and that was the Hoki!

And no idea what they put in their mix, but I think someone used to work at kfc because both the battered and crumbed versions of the fish had some secret 11 herb and spices that gave an incredible complimentary flavour to the fish- most creative subtle little twist I’ve had in years.

Just eaten some of the best fish n chips from Aaron's Kitchen Tairua, great fresh fish, crispy batter, and beautiful battered mussels. Definitely recommend them.
Just enjoyed a simply meal of fish chips with a cheeseburger chaser! The fish was fall apart fresh and wrapped in a thick crusty batter, all so tasty and melt in the mouth stuff. Though the burger could have done with more cheese it was everything you’d expect from a handmade NZ burger. The chips were lite and crispy... would do it all again in a heart beat.
Yeah nice food on the whole. Had the sweet & sour pork and the beef black bean plus chips/nuggets for the kids. Don't understand why Asian takeaways insist on putting celery and cucumber in their food? Try broccoli and cauliflower if you have to put extra veggies in there. Celery is for the devil.
Best fish n chips ever. Stay 2 nights, tried both takeaways, Aarons fish n chips is better than the one opposite, tasty burger and sushi’s very yum, will come back next time. Well Recommend!!
I'm from London. When my dumplings arrived to my table I was shocked at how BIG they were, delicious too! Dumplings in NZ are HUGE HUGE HUGE :-)
I love the deco here with the distillery at the back and a real shab chic feel to the place without being pretencious, very laid back.
Just a FYI, Aarons Kitchen is behind the liquor shop. We followed a Chinese lady to the back and that's how we found it.
I'm Chinese and although the dumplings in NZ are nice they do have a kiwi spin to them often with Veg in them, which I love!
