Best burger in Taupo? yeah, probably - but the bar isn't exactly high... Have eaten here twice and enjoyed it both times, but I've definitely had a half dozen or so better burgers in NZ.
The price is reasonable enough for the size, and the chicken and beef seem to be good quality. I do love their slaw dressing though.
Things have changed. I came here years ago and it was amazing! But times have changed and so has this place. The southern fried chicken burger was ok, chicken was great, bun was nice, but the burger lacked bite, some acidity or something. The slaw mayo tasted very generic, as did the burger sauce. My partner asked did the my do gluten free and they said no, we then looked at the menu and they did have gf buns, so we took the gamble, assuming the person was just a worker, not the owner. Unfortunately my partners burger was not as good and had lots of raw onion. I'd come back in a pinch, but won't be my first choice anymore
Food was good, staff were friendly as well. Highly recommend the southern fried chicken (any variation) as well as the special beef burger. Jackfruit burger was pretty good too. Would come again!
After a long days drive and staying a night in Taupo I asked them to recommend me a burger and liking some spice I went with the chilli cheese burger with extra pattie and salad which bumped up the price a bit but gosh the burger was amazing. Patties are pure quality and spice had some zing and salad was there to balance it all out. I was very impressed. The combo with chips and milkshake is not cheap but it's worth it.
They say it is the best burger in town. I disagree. I think is the best burger in the North island. Just go there if you crave for some burger. Stop thinking. Just go. But recommend you take away, not much seats, and well... basically no ambient. Take it as a fast food joint.
DO believe the hype! Possibly the best smash burger I’ve had in NZ over the years—far outweighing the famous (and in my personal opinion overrated) Fergs in Queenstown. Crispy edges, really nice brisket beef patty. Cheese and housemade sauces all on point.
Very friendly, happy staff, good amount of items on the menu to balance variety with doing very thing well. Would def come back. Might even do so tomorrow.
If you’re traveling the 1 and have an hour, swing into town for it it’s that good.
The average price of a burger is $15, but it's delicious, and I personally think it's worth it!

Had to stop at Pauly's Diner when I was in Taupo. The burgers are simply delicious and you can make it a combo with chips and a drink. We had the BBC and Cheese Burgers. The Souther Fried Chicken baskets are pretty good also, Boneless pieces of chicken that is juicy. Plenty of parking outside in the carpark
excellent burgers here. not much seating inside, and the meat patty was quite small for the price. i had to pay extra to have salad in the burger. the sauces and method of cooking was great. buns fresh and tasty. all in all an excellent burger.
