Enjoyed a tasty breakfast, EGGS, scrambled eggs on sour dough bread, husband had a FUNNY GUY breakfast, mushrooms, poached egg and potato wedges Service was friendly and the coffee excellent. Menu caters for all tastes. Will definitely see us again.

Great smoothies! Super Friendly staff (i think it was a family-owned/operated, got this nice genuine vibe from the staffs). didn't try the food. It was a great spot to have your afternoon coffee with the view overlooking the park. Coffee is ok for me. Saw a lot of options for vegan too
We'd just completed a long walk to the Huka Falls and were desperate for something warm and delicious. The bacon hock, leek and potato soup with sourdough bread just hit the spot. Very good selection of cabinet and food to order. A pleasant spacious cafe with friendly owners.
My favorite place in Taupo by far. Great array of balanced, healthy and homely made food, cakes, salads, soups... you name it. GF, dairy free vegetarian and vegan TASTY options.

Feeling the need for a filling but healthier lunch and a glass of wine (it’s all about balance), I consulted Google and was intrigued by Cafe Ninety Nine. Their menu is sizeable with different options for different dietary requirements. Toasties seems to be one of their specialities, so I was tempted by the Rueben, but opted for the special smashed avo with feta and egg with a glass of rose. It was a great choice, as the dish was filling but not too big and the rose was lovely. I’m always a little nervous of wine lists that don’t include the vineyard, but the gamble paid off.
The cabinet food looks lovely and the vibe is relaxed with quirky mismatched furniture. Cafe Ninety Nine is now on my list for regular visits when I’m in Taupo.
Just had lunch here and this is the best toastie (aka The Boss) I've eaten in a long time. The beef brisket is tender and melt in your mouth, and together with the relish, made a satisfying hunger buster after a long drive from Auckland to Taupo. Highly recommended!
I had the med stack. Beautifully cooked. Very tasty. Good portion size. Could have had a little more eggplant. Coffee was perfect. Thoroughly recommend.
