Well, I'm embarrassed to say but my wife and I accidentally ate it all before we could show off our lunch.
Our only regret of the whole experience is that we didn't get two scoops! 😅🤣
I can say that this was the best fish and chips we've ever had. The chips were light and fluffy yet slightly crispy on the outside, they were filled with flavour!
The snapper was crumbed to perfection and was the best snapper I've ever had. It wasn't dry or undercooked, or too chewy. We will be back before we head back to the land down under. We will be spreading the word!
Thanks again. A must go to my friendly earth dwellers!

Good store with plenty of range & options .
Staff were most welcoming for us tired travellers . The snapper cocktails & chips went down well & I appreciate use of good oil & the lemon 🍋 & chicken salt .
The space invaders arcade game was a blast from the past !

Amazing fish & chips place. Ask for extra crispy fish & chips - it taste sooo good!
The owner is friendly, place is clean and serves great food in fair price, what to want more?
Also, ignore bad reviews from long time ago, I'm not sure how was it before, but owner has changed few months ago, and now this place definitely deserves much higher than 4.1!!!

Very delicious fish & chips. Fish batter is just a thin layer n very crispy. Not many places in the world have this type of quality. No oil taste. But do check your order before leaving as they forgotten to give us our fried mussels otherwise all good.

The service is always incredibly friendly, the chips are my favorite in Taupo and always extra crispy as requested - I highly recommend the extra crispy chips, since the new owners have taken over I have also become a fan of the fish, which if you weren't a fan of previously like I wasn't give it another try and hopefully your experience will be like mine extremely tasty.

Plenty enough for one person, really good sausage, tasty fish, was not too keen on the fritter though, none of it was too greasy as far as fried food goes...
Stepson had "The Works Burger" and said it was really good...

Friendly service. Great burgers and loaded wedges. We also got a seafood boil, I think it was worth the $50 we paid. I would call catch 22 more of a "boutique" fish n chip shop. Good food but a bit pricey.

Clean, Freindly, everything visible, fresh snapper, nice scallops and oysters, good batter, oil/fat clean, kumara chips really good.
Would have been 5 stars except for food being overcooked.
I know this is how some people like it.
Not me.
I will probably go there again, but ask them if they can cook it less.

Best Fish and Chips we've had since returning to New Zealand last year. We read the reviews and glad we ignored a few minor comments and experienced this for ourselves. The young lady working was amazing, friendly, tentative and her cooking was outstanding. We had Gurnard, Snapper, Scallops and Mussels with chips!!! Stunning

One of the best meals we have had in town, ordered a bit of everything from the menu and it was all fantastic! Great menu options and Wonderful friendly service In store as well. We will definitely be returning!

Best fish and chips we have had by far in Taupo, the hoki and fried mussels tasted fresh, crisp and delicious,.. the patrons were super friendly, we were from out of town, it was raining outside We asked if we could eat in the open area of the shopfront, they let us enjoy our meal there, we tidied up and were very grateful that they were so accommodating… We stayed in Taupo for three days and came to the shop each day for dinner, highly recommended. You won’t be disappointed make sure you visit this take out.. see you next time we are in Taupo. Thank you again!

My family and I stopped in here to eat last weekend, the fish was beautiful!! Nice thin batter, tasted fresh and not chewy, scallops were perfection my partner said, everything was cooked so well, if you love fish and chips this is the place to go, the new owners were also very lovely, thank use again for a yum kai.

Delicious late lunch in the sunshine today. Everything about the visit delightful. Bummed we're from Melbourne and can't come here to try EVERYTHING. Recommend! (Especially the garlic butter cheese fries... unreal)
