Review Social Club - Taupo

What a lovely place to go for Ann enjoyable meal. Jas was a wonderful host, and his welcome and attention set the tone for a lovely evening. Our meals were tasty, well cooked and great flavours. The menu while not extensive caters for a wide variety of dietary preferences. The restaurant is clean and spacious. You don't feel like you are dining with the table next door. It has a unique feel and with a log fire in winter makes for a warm and cosy place to dine. Oh, and the views across the lake to the mountains are simply captivating. This was a lovely experience.

We have only had the breakfast at Social Club Taupo so when my partner said we were having dinner here we were very excited as our past experiences here have been amazing and the food has just been as great, the staff went above and beyond to meet our needs and requests, the atmosphere was beautiful over looking the Lake whilst the sun set, the restaurant was very tidy and overall brilliant night we are definitely coming back over the Christmas holidays. A big ups to the bar staff and the chef's they even packed our left overs to bring home.

Amazing dining experience - gorgeous view, super friendly and accommodating staff (vegan and a vegetarian diners, they answered all questions with a smile and we didn't feel like we were a bother at all). Had the banana blossom fish and chips, and vegan fish tacos - they were incredible. Food was fresh, generous portions, and so thoughtfully prepared. Mocktails were also delish 😋 we will be back next time we are in Taupō! Left smiling ear to ear 🥰

The vegan fish and chips were absolutely delicious! I was surprised by the apple crumble I thought it will come like a pie but it was good the mango sorbet was delicious

We had only a quick stay at the Lakefront Lodge in Taupo. To our delight, upstairs was the Social Club, Taupo, offering drinks and food, with happy hour from 3pm. Kiran, the young lady basically running the show was AMAZING!!! She was friendly, knowledgeable, shared a joke with us and all round SHE made our visit very enjoyable. Kiran is efficient and very good at her job, she kept the show running as it got busier through the night. As for the food, my partner ordered the Pulled Lamb and thoroughly enjoyed it. He’s not much of a “foodie” so for him to rave about his meal, it must have been good. I ordered the Chicken Tacos, they were tasty and two was certainly enough, along with the yummy garlic ciabatta we ordered. The surprise delight for me however, was the Strawberry Lime Cider! Soooo good and a definite winner. The view is of course wonderful, looking out over the lake and it’s a pleasant, casual atmosphere, made lovely with the real fire crackling away. A must visit we would say.

Lovely atmosphere. Our table was by the window so we had a great view. Our waitress who was from The Rotorua Social Club was very attentive and looked after us really well. Our entrees came out with our mains which was annoying but not a major worry. The polenta chips were the star of our meal. Love the fact that we had potato gratin and veges with our mains and not chips and salad. The lamb was tender, the greens could of been cooked a little bit longer but were nice with the bacon. The Mash potatoes was really nice. The serving size was good!

Jas was brilliant. Very attentive and gave us our best dining service yet during our stay in Taupo. Look forward to seeing him again in the Mount!

Really fantastic experience. Lots of delicious and interesting vegan options, nice drink selection, good view and superb staff. Exceeded my expectations, we'll definitely be back - it's now my go-to dine in spot in Taupo

Very nice restaurant, the vegan fish is very good! I would not normally go on about a salad but also excellent. I would gladly go back again. If vegan consider this a worthwhile dinner option!

Awesome atmosphere! We had Kiran as out waitress and her service and smile made our evening even more enjoyable! The food was fresh, delicious and quick! We will be back

We had an amazing experience here today. Food/desert is absolutely delicious, loveeeee the Crispy waffle. and Jas's service is on point, he was so gentle. this restaurant deserves 5 stars and I recommend you to come here.

Looks out on to the lake. Meals were great value. Service was excellent - particularly appreciated Jes' efforts to engage my 4-year old in our dining experience. Thank you!

Service was great, the two guys that looked after us were so polite and helpful. I loved my Vegan "Fish" burger, my partner said his burger was also good. Comfortable seating, family friendly and nice views of the lake.

Beautiful place to stay! Really enjoyed it here, Because of being a wooden Hotel,floors get a Lil creaky but honestly just LOved it over all

Nice place for dinner in Taupo. Food options were adequate, but the beer options were pretty slim and not really craft beer. Staff were friendly. Not a bad place to go if in the area

A cosy restaurant with lots of table seating in the winter a fire place which was on for us in the evening 😀. I ordered the tortilla basket salad with salmon and also we had the loaded fries which was a big serving 😋 My Tortilla basket was just delicious With the tasty salmon. Excellent meals and great service a most definite returning back again .

This restaurant is providing a level of greatness with the quality of its menu, the ambience and the exceptional service. The management of this establishment should be a benchmark for all other restaurants. After having two fabulous meals at this restaurant during our brief stay I have no hesitation in giving this business six stars out of five.

Stayed at the lakefront lodge and went here for dinner on the first night of our stay. Such a delicious and delightful experience! From the super personable servers to the PERFECT burger and generous serving of crispy fries accompanied by a delish G&T and craft cider, I know I’ll be travelling to Taupo from Auckland soon just to visit these guys again. Thank Social Club for such a lovely time!
