Jas was a wonderful host, and his welcome and attention set the tone for a lovely evening.
Our meals were tasty, well cooked and great flavours.
The menu while not extensive caters for a wide variety of dietary preferences.
The restaurant is clean and spacious. You don't feel like you are dining with the table next door. It has a unique feel and with a log fire in winter makes for a warm and cosy place to dine. Oh, and the views across the lake to the mountains are simply captivating.

We have only had the breakfast at Social Club Taupo so when my partner said we were having dinner here we were very excited as our past experiences here have been amazing and the food has just been as great, the staff went above and beyond to meet our needs and requests, the atmosphere was beautiful over looking the Lake whilst the sun set, the restaurant was very tidy and overall brilliant night we are definitely coming back over the Christmas holidays. A big ups to the bar staff and the chef's they even packed our left overs to bring home.
Amazing dining experience - gorgeous view, super friendly and accommodating staff (vegan and a vegetarian diners, they answered all questions with a smile and we didn't feel like we were a bother at all). Had the banana blossom fish and chips, and vegan fish tacos - they were incredible. Food was fresh, generous portions, and so thoughtfully prepared. Mocktails were also delish š we will be back next time we are in TaupÅ! Left smiling ear to ear š„°
The vegan fish and chips were absolutely delicious! I was surprised by the apple crumble I thought it will come like a pie but it was good the mango sorbet was delicious

We had only a quick stay at the Lakefront Lodge in Taupo. To our delight, upstairs was the Social Club, Taupo, offering drinks and food, with happy hour from 3pm. Kiran, the young lady basically running the show was AMAZING!!! She was friendly, knowledgeable, shared a joke with us and all round SHE made our visit very enjoyable. Kiran is efficient and very good at her job, she kept the show running as it got busier through the night.
As for the food, my partner ordered the Pulled Lamb and thoroughly enjoyed it. Heās not much of a āfoodieā so for him to rave about his meal, it must have been good. I ordered the Chicken Tacos, they were tasty and two was certainly enough, along with the yummy garlic ciabatta we ordered. The surprise delight for me however, was the Strawberry Lime Cider! Soooo good and a definite winner.
The view is of course wonderful, looking out over the lake and itās a pleasant, casual atmosphere, made lovely with the real fire crackling away. A must visit we would say.
Lovely atmosphere. Our table was by the window so we had a great view. Our waitress who was from The Rotorua Social Club was very attentive and looked after us really well. Our entrees came out with our mains which was annoying but not a major worry. The polenta chips were the star of our meal. Love the fact that we had potato gratin and veges with our mains and not chips and salad. The lamb was tender, the greens could of been cooked a little bit longer but were nice with the bacon. The Mash potatoes was really nice. The serving size was good!
Jas was brilliant. Very attentive and gave us our best dining service yet during our stay in Taupo. Look forward to seeing him again in the Mount!
Really fantastic experience. Lots of delicious and interesting vegan options, nice drink selection, good view and superb staff. Exceeded my expectations, we'll definitely be back - it's now my go-to dine in spot in Taupo
Very nice restaurant, the vegan fish is very good! I would not normally go on about a salad but also excellent. I would gladly go back again. If vegan consider this a worthwhile dinner option!
Awesome atmosphere! We had Kiran as out waitress and her service and smile made our evening even more enjoyable! The food was fresh, delicious and quick! We will be back
