A big shout out to the awesome, professional and friendly service from Jade at Mavericks. On our first night in Taupo and visiting the area on holiday from the land down under (Australia) we found this wonderful restaurant with great service and even better food. It has great vibrant atmosphere with fast service.
What a gem of a restaurant. The service from Jade was amazing. Attention to detail was superb and Jade was extremely accomodating when it came to our two little ones. The food was hands down the best we have had in New Zealand since arriving 6 months ago. The eye fillet was perfect. The chicken pasta was masterfully cooked! Overall this was a fantastic evening and I will definitely be back when visiting Taupo.
We had lunch here today and I can confirm it was delicious. The service was even better and it was a great relaxed warm cosy atmosphere. Clean and service was quick too. We ordered bao buns, Korean fried chicken, pork belly bites, truffle fries, the sandwich and two kids meals (chicken bites and spag boll). Everything was yummy except my partner said the sandwich was average and the spag boll was dry but everything else delish. Kids meals come with snacks too and a drink. Waitress was very friendly and welcoming.
First time eating here and omg it was amazingggg!! For starters we ordered the bao buns and garlic loaf and those bao buns are the best I’ve tasted. For Main I ordered the Scotch steak with garlic butter and my sides were buttered mash, and Mac and cheese with 2 added eggs! My partner ordered the Scotch with Garlic butter and his 2 sides were Chips and Shrimp salad with 2 added eggs. It’s the best steak meal we have had in a long time. The steak was cooked perfectly and everything was so tasty. The atmosphere was great, and the service was absolutely amazing! Will definitely be coming back here the next time we are in Taupo.

Best Chowder but seriously the best cocktails and still at a realistic price between $14 and $15 but good size cocktails with real alcohol not flavoured mixes like some modern pubs. Well done Mavericks. Highly recommend.

What a great pub! The menu is full of amazing starters, light meals, standard sized meals and desserts. We had the Korean fried chicken, fried pork pieces and the 350g and 500g steaks. They were cooked to perfection along with choosing from lots of optional sides
The drinks menu has an abundance to choose from which all food and drinks were served quickly without any issues!
A very clean resturant which is perfect for a late snack or dinner
Lots of parking with an easy access ramp for wheelchairs
Such a cool place, friendly workers, fast service and amazing kai. Ordered the tomahawk steak, salmon, Korean chicken and spag bol kids meal - YUM and generous portions. Special thanks to Manaia, girl your service was on! Thank you.

Food and atmosphere was great but the one thing I enjoyed the most was our awesome waiter Paora. He was naturally cheerful the whole time and even managed an epic photo bomb, which we thought was really cool. This young person is going place in the service industry.
Food was excellent, the best steak I’ve had in a while! Generous meals and drinks. Staff were friendly and service was very quick! No dessert, way too full. Well priced too. Will definitely be back
