Review Le Petit Four Cafe & Patisserie - Tauranga

Lemon curd and sugar crepe was ok but would’ve been better if it was more crispy than soft (my preference). The bacon, banana and cream was good. Scone was ok too.

Great selection of food that was well made and presented. Some staff were friendly, but a few were distracted and not particularly attentive.

A regular breakfast place for me on the weekends. Love their big breakfast. Their sourdough is toasted to perfection and tastes amazing. Also love the salted caramel crepe as a dessert option; melts in your mouth. Good coffee too. On occasion, I have also tried the ham and cheese sandwich with wholegrain mustard from the cabinet, and it is delicious.

It's been a while (as in yrs), since I last ate here but the food is still exceptional! Absolutely enjoyed our brekkie. I had the salted caramel crepes with added bacon & it was delish!!! Coffee was good too. Overall a lovely experience. Despite being small, it def is worth eating here.

Best hot chocolate in town as tastes like real chocolate. Cabinet is expensive so we just shared a muffin. Only toilets in the whole of the Chapel St shops area are in the cafes so worth a stop with the kids en route anywhere!

Not going to lie, we only tried this place because we were out shopping at the time & it was close. Glad we did however, as the Staff were absolutely lovely & the food tasted just like homemade - the ginger kiss in particular was Devine! The coffee decorations were the icing on the cake!

Love this cafe the food is out of this world particularly love the carrot cake and muffins from here, savouries are great too. Coffee is great too, good spot close to shopping area briscoes, rebel sports etc.. Only thing I would mention is the sound echoes in the cafe itself can get quite noisy when it's busy.

Read the reviews and thought we would give it a try.<br/><br/>Nice location, great view over the estuary but no ambience.<br/><br/>We ordered the croissants to start as they are apparently baked on site. The flavour was okay but they lacked the fluffiness and crisp flakey crust of a well made croissant.<br/><br/>The flat whites were hot and fluffy but lacked flavour.<br/><br/>The waitresses mopped around the place and gave a very good impression that they would prefer to be somewhere else!<br/><br/>The saving grace was the fried eggs, bacon and toast, but not enough to lift the score above a three.

Amazing cafe!! Came here over the weekend spontaneously with friends. We all really enjoyed our meals 🤤 food was awesome value for money! Portion sizes were HUGE! I got a BLAT and I can honestly say it was one of the best BLATS I've had. They were super generous with the ingredients, especially for the prices. ( you wouldn't get that in Auckland) will definitely be back when I'm in Tauranga again 👍🏼👍🏼

I can't never get enough of this place. <br/>For breakfast we had Balat and long black.<br/>It was amazing bacon was crispy enough and it was a lot of avocado. <br/>I really enjoyed it.<br/>Staff were very friendly and good customer service. <br/>Must recommend

Fantastic coffee, French sticks are to die for and the service is amazing!! Make sure you try the ciabatta bread . The gluten free friends are amazing !<br/><br/>

All i can say is YUM! I am surprised at how low the rating is for this place. Their baguettes and patisseries in the cabinet are amazing, I love their chicken and mayo baguette. The staff are always very friendly and the food never fails to impress. I would highly recommend this cafe.

I have found this cafe to consistently exceed my expectations. The freshly baked food is absolutely delicious, and the coffee is awesome!! The staff are lovely and always willing to go the extra mile. Would definitely recommend.

The coffee is delicately made and presented, the decor is tasteful and in keeping with the French theme, the food is always delicious and the staff are always helpful and attentive. This is my most favourite cafe in all of Tauranga and is the only one in this town, in my experience, that can boast consistency in deliciousness!!<br/>Keep up the good work!

We called by to have a coffee this morning but we were very disappointed with the coffee as it was very weak! The food however looked delicious. We decided to take some turkish flat bread home, it was very disappointing, dry and overcooked!

I find this cafe brilliant.<br/><br/>This cafe uses top-shelf organic ingredients where possible, provides true French recipes, has modern and believable French decor and the staff are very helpful.<br/><br/>Occasionally I find my coffee burned but that is literally my only complaint - that, and that it doesn't open a bit later so I can visit it more!!<br/><br/>My roast vege salad and Espresso Diplomat was heaven!<br/><br/>Merci Bien!

My sister-in-law kindly took my sister and I out for coffee in early January to this cafe. She had a lovely hot chocolate, but unfortunately my sister and I both had the worst latte we have encountered in years. It was pasty looking in its glass, and insipid to taste. The only thing stopping us from making a scene was that we didn't want to offend our generous sister-in-law after she had kindly shouted us. Shame on the Barista.

I was surprised to see only 3.5/5 stars for this cafe as in my opinion it is one of the best cafes in Tauranga and is always full of people (and has been since the day it opened). They have fantastic pastries and although the hot food menu is only small the things that I have tried from it have been very good. I usually go there for a pastry, baguette and a Spanish Latte - which I haven't come across anywhere else and are completely delicious - I am not a coffee/tea drinker and it is great to have a hot drink that I really enjoy.<br/>I definitely recommend coming here for brunch/lunch or just to grab some food to go. You can also get fresh bread to take home, I am not a fan of the ciabatta but the baguettes and sourdough are delicious.

I cannot say enough good things no wait fantastic things to say about Le Petit Four. To this day the mushroom quiche is the most delish quiche I have EVER eaten (and I have eaten a LOT). Chicken Mayo rolls, salads, croissants, cheesecake..Im slowly eating my way through the menu! Trust me you will not be disappointed! All this with cool friendly staff to boot!

I think the first review was a bit unfair, I don't think the cafe had been open long then.<br/>I work close to Le petit four and quite regularly go there for lunch or morning tea shouts and the baguettes and patisserie items are always delicious. The coffee is good too, and they were happy to take a phone order and even offered to help take the coffees to the car.

This place is absolutely terrible.<br/>We ordered an eggs benedict and a bagel with salmon and cream cheese. This took 25minutes to arrive, which wasn't ideal to start off with (the cafe wasn't busy!)..<br/>The bread in my eggs benedict was burnt (was very black) and the hollandaise sauce was the most disgusting, greasy thing I have ever eaten!)<br/>This ruined my lunch, not to mention my appetite. I felt very sick after eating this meal. <br/>When I complained to the waitress, she didn't even apologise, and when I told her to tell the chef that his food was of very poor quality, she walked off with a sour expression and didn't return to our table.<br/>This experience ruined my impression of this place and I will definitely not be back, nor will my friends or family. <br/>You would be well advised to spend your money elsewhere.
