Nice interior, fantastic service and beautiful meal! Schnitzel cutlets were huge, gold brown, crispy outside n soft inside texture. Price is bit high($29 each dish) but price is up for literally everything nowadays so its fair enough. We had very good experience. Definitely come back for crispy cutlet 🥰
Lovely food, friendly staff. Chicken empanadas were fab. Beef ones could have a bit more flavor. The schnitzels were huge and delicious. We even took some dessert home and that was yummy too. Will definitely return
Searching Tauranga to have dinner at 8pm and this place popped up like magic, is one of our favorite meals from our homeland Argentina.
The milanesas we have ordered Beef Blue Cheese and the Parmigiana were absolutely exquisite, presentation divine, the waiter was so friendly and kind. We Highly recommend this place
Now i am back to one of my favorite restaurants here in tauranga. The la cantina.
It is my first time to try their schnitzel popeye and it goes well with my cocktails drink! My friend got the caprese and she loved it as well. We both loved and enjoyed every bite of it. So come try thier food with a lot of varieties to choose from.

It's my first time to try the cuisine at La Cantina and I rate it to 4 for now. The Prawn Salad is tasty just enough seasoning, shrimps were cook evenly and tender. It goes well with the salad. Probably next time if I will order the coffee should be one shot so it would not taste strong for me. Overall, I recommend it for people who loves a chill place like La Cantina or spend time with your friends or family over lunch or dinner. I will check out their dinner meal.
Love the food! Generous serving. Chicken schnitzel is juicy ❤️ Staff are friendly. Place is clean and cozy. We even got to try their new dish which is called Croquetas. Keep up the excellent mahi! ☺️
I had beef schnitzel Diane and husband had the beef Parmigiana. They were huge and tasty mains. We ordered Hasselback potatoes to go with our meal which were simply divine. Washed the meal down with a glass of Chilean Shiraz. Couldn't fit in dessert.
The menu was quite different than any other restaurants in Tauranga.

Had to try this schnitzel / milanesa eatery, since I don't know any other place in Tauranga that serves Argentinan schnitzels 😀 Totally up to my expectations given that we are in NZ. I had the chicken napoli (suprema napolitana) and my partner the beef mediterranean. Both really tasty, crumbly and seasoned perfectly (as an argentinian schnitzel). Sides were coleslaw (nothing argentian here hehe), then fries or potato salad. I have to say that the potato salad wasn't my taste since it had gerkins in it (probably a kind of german style or kiwi...not sure)...I was expecting my potato salad with onions and a dressing.
They also sell alfajores and other pastries which I haven't tried but definitely will! I was really hoping for them to sell Flan with Dulce de leche as dessert, but wasn't on the menu...maybe in the future? 😉
I found the place to be more an argentinean eatery , hence the name, so the schnitzels you'll find will be on the argentinean taste side rather than european (very similar anyway). No pork schnitzel here.
Totally recommend the place 👌 Good quality for money. And a little corner for us argentineans looking for some comfort food that remind us of home.

Went for a birthday dinner with a party of 12. Service was a bit slow considering there were only 2 other tables with 2 people. Food was great and my gluten free meal was nice. The schnitzels were very generous.
