Four of us had a lovely dinner 19/10/23. Very nice and good value. An excellent local Thai cafe.
Lovely atmosphere and lovely food. The dishes seem authentic, and both look and taste great. We've been here a few times and it's always been good. We'd certainly recommend this place for a nice evening out. They have a children's menu for the little ones.
Great little place to eat. Parking outside and across the road. Staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. My Tom Yum Soup was delicious and warmed my face long after I had finished eating. Very tasty with authentic Thai flavours. Portion sizes were great. Food was value for money. Looking forward to coming back again.
Wow. When we entered we were greeted by a very enthusiastic waiter, the food was phenomenal. My partner said she hadn't had a proper Thai dish since being in Thailand several years ago.
Fantastic atmosphere, fantastic staff.
The prices are very reasonable: 18-24$ for mains, around $8 for appetizers. I was dining alone, so just had an appetizer plate and every item was yummy. I would have been happier with a larger serving of the side sauces, and the peanut sauce was just peanut butter, albeit a good one. I stopped in because of curb appeal and how cozy it looked (and it is, btw). Service was good and I felt comfortable staying and relaxing, which some places don't foster.
As authentic to Thai cuisine as you can get in Wellington. Friendly, efficient staff. Delicious Thai food at a reasonable price. Highly recommend. We will definitely be going back to Tawa's hidden little treasure.

The Thai Country Cafe is a real gem of Tawa. Good menu with plenty of choices. Generous meal size without being stupidly large and they'll doggy-bag any remainder.

Have been twice now and will definitely be a regular visitor, they have a kids menu and my kids love it (6&7), whole steamed fish absolutely delicious and the curry very moreish, see you again soon!
