Great place , great ambience, excellent meal preparations and a variety of beers on the tap to die for. Will visit again definitely.
Wonderful value lunch for over 65 , followed next day by ribeye sizzler , to top it all best pint of Guinness outside Ireland . The staff are helpful and nothing is too much for them .
Good place to spend some time drinking great local beer. Food is ok too if you are not too picky. I think fries should not come already salted (oversalted, in my opinion) and salt and pepper should be on each table. Got some lamb shoulder with grilled veges and mash. Meat amount was about 200 grams out of that 50 grams was not meat. That should be trimmed before cooking. Usually hard to notice but when the meal arived at table was already cold. I was keen to give this feed back in house but nobody came to ask how is our meal. Aged ribeye was good not sure if that topping sauce was a good choice for a prime piece.
Tuesday 4th July.
Was there as a part of a group of dining for the evening.
Young lady serving us did very well and cannot be faulted.
I had just the seafood chowder which was ok. Not exceptional but satisfactory.
Reasonable value for money.
I have no complaints about the place and would be happy to return again in the future.
Fantastic out of this world dining experience with great fast paced friendly staff members. Excellent food the Southern chook burger took away the award with best burger I have ever eaten in my life!!!
Nice decor, great service, relaxing.
Was in the Street Food area.
Paella was quite good.
Crispy squid - I would season it and not pile it up in a cereal type bowl as that stops it from being crispy.
Chicken strips...you could make these really good if you tried a more interesting coating (seemed similar to the squid) and more original dipping sauces especially something tangy or spicy. (Asian) Street food it isn't, more 'kiwi stick in a deep frier'.
Good selection of beer on tap (including Panhead and Emerson) food was tasty, great sized portions for the price, pretty cool building. Loaded fries were different then the usual but tasty as! Recommended.

Had the lamb salad. The lamb was succulent. There was a good variety of greens and vegetables in the salad part. As a group of 6 people, I said on arrival that we needed to leave in a hour, the meals arrived quickly and we had time to spare. Outside dining available. Toilets. Limited free parking, plenty of street parking.
Not many safe gluten free options, but the wait staff let me know they share use the same vats to cook their chips. Great service
We had a group of 43 for a birthday party.
The service was amazing especially when they were short on staff due to illness.
All our meals were delicious and out a lot quicker than expected.
I highly recommend The Speights Ale house to everyone
Had a lovely lunch there. Food was great, service as well. The building an the area around was also beautiful.
