Review Boneface Brewing Co. Restaurant - Upper Hutt

We got the 2 person bbq platter, the brisket was juicy, the sausage had a nice spice to them and a smokey flavour, the wings were slightly dry but had a nice flavour to them. The best part was the Ribs and Beans they were full of flavour, the ribs were really moist and cooked really well. We also got the mac n cheese, it was tasty and it was a big portion. Overall, nice atmosphere, the staff was really friendly and the food is great. Would definitely recommend coming here for a nice beer and meal

Awesome food. Food is good enough for 4 adults. Improvement that could bring: Beef could be bit more juicy. I dont like dry meat. Rest everything is good. Nice ambience for family treat.

Surprised for a Friday evening dinner to get a table in a city venue and be able to take a dog inside , great start, good vibes and cool place from a blink and miss it from the outside. We had a few samples to figure which drinks to have served by the awesome bar staff - opting for The Wizard and a Plum sour. Great tasting drinks. We ordered food for 3 was enough for 4 - brisket tacos, Korean fried chicken, garlic bread and for the the highlight Katsu Fries. The food was quick , hot and tasted good , thanks chef! Would defo come back again for a beer or even just for the fries ( Boneface don't change them - they were perfect)

Great venue, and the food was delicious. We were there for lunch. There was plenty of parking. The staff were helpful and friendly. I do have a couple of things that weren't so good. The base in the music was too loud, which made it difficult for one of our family members who wears a hearing aid. The second thing was the bathrooms. They had run out of paper, and there was urine on the floor. I would hate to see the state of the bathrooms tonight.

Popped in for Burger Welly with a mate. Service, food and basically everything was great. Little bit of a wait on food as they had some big bookings in, but nothing extreme. Really enjoyed everything

UPDATE: had lunch at Boneface yesterday, the great food is back. Had the buttermilk chicken and the aged sirloin - both were top notch! I'm not exactly thrilled to write this but it looks like my recent experience has been others experience too in the past few days. We first visited early March 2021 based on rave reviews from friends about the food. We had a double birthday celebration and everyone was blown away by the food. This week we went back and the menu had been changed, new chef apparently. All the good menu items were gone and the food was literally glorified bar food. My boys both had burgers that were big sliders. It wasn't a cheap meal out ie the gourmet prices for pub grub. We don't drink so while I'm sure the beer is the main attraction it's really disappointing to have taken a turn like this. They did say the menu was only temporary so I really really hope they sort themselves out and bring back the amazing food.

Another small town brewery with great beer and a cool location. Has locally brewed and tasty beer. Excellent pub food, tried a meat lovers selection which was extroadinary. Having dogs welcome is a winning idea. Staff are friendly and helpful!

Highly recommend coming here. Place was packed when we arrived (without a booking) but the staff were super accommodating and sorted us out. Food was amazing and the service speed was incredible. Loved the beers we had ‘the unit’ and ‘the outlaw’ Brilliant afternoon outting.

Interesting place. They efficient: great beer just made, great service, decent choice of food, good and efficient service. Overall I enjoyed my experience here and looking forward to coming back and trying new beers. Highly recommended Only cons. Background noise quite loud, expansive prices.

Our reservation was for 6pm, with 7 kids but because Chipmunks closed at 5pm the staff were very accommodating allowing them to be seated earlier until the rest of us arrived - very much appreciated!! (Definitely book prior though because they went from a few to full real quick.) The atmosphere was awesome - great service, cool artwork and good music. Also the games room is fantastic! It kept the kids (and eventually husbands) entertained and gave our family time for a long overdue catch up. Huge complements to the chef!!! The food came out fast and was delicious! My steak was perfect, gravy and mash - to die for, best onion rings ever, I even ate the kale and I don’t like kale. Minor hiccup with the crème brûlée but the team were really approachable, quick to provide a solution and did so in a lovely manner. Thank you so much for an amazing evening!

One lick of the bao bun and I'm yours bone daddy. We drove here from palmy for lunch, expectations were high (given the current price of petrol) We were not disappointed. You can't go wrong with the beers, they're always a good shout. There is some next level sorcery going on in that kitchen though. The ribs were crispy in all the right places but still pulled away from the bone. The brisket burger was beautifully balanced with the fluffiest of buns. My god the bao buns were to die for, I eat bao buns wherever I go and these were hands down the best. I'd give a kidney to eat those again. The service was exceptional and they actually looked happy to be there! Was so nice to see the staff having a laugh. Thanks Boneface.

Awesome spot with all the other breweries in Brewtown! Love their Wellington on a plate burger! Well balanced great food on their regular menu! Heaps of beer choices for tasting. Great ambiance! Definitely worth driving to Upper Hutt!

Primo love this place and that meat platter BOOM wow the flavours are to die for but i must try something new from the menu next time round but each time i come im drawn to that meat platter lol oh and love the brews too great place and great service ��

Boneface Brewery does amazing food. The best food I ever had in my life, so tasty, so many good flavours - never had anything like it. Good price too. Couldn't fault anything and I'm fussy. Shared the duck gravy poutine, buffalo chicken bites and lamb ribs with the bf, we couldn't get through it all, was so filling and delicious. Literally the best place to eat in Upper Hutt. Probably the whole Hutt Valley tbh.

A great place to relax, probable one of the better craft beers I have tasted, really enjoy it so very keen to taste the others. The food tastes great so between good beer and good food, I highly recommend you visit as long as you’re not on Weight Watchers and if you are, take a day off, you will not be disappointed in your place to binge.

This place was amazing!! We had our work do here and they catered to 25 people and they were friendly and so helpful and the food was to die for��I will definitely be recommending this place to anyone and everyone �

Delicious lunch and beer wasn't bad either(also not a beer drinker);) haloumi burger great, Seaweed crisps amazing and too top it all delicious choc brownie... will def be back again

Great food, Great service. Love the atmosphere of this place. Such good vibes. Super dog friendly which is so nice to see. Love that they are building an outdoor bit too. Will be a greaf spot on a fine day.

Boneface is our new favourite weekend spot. The food menu is a good match with the beers (my fav is the Ace of Spades mmm). Appreciate being able to bring our dogs here too.

I popped in here after work on Friday with a couple of colleagues, loved it, completed the loyalty card ��. The ales are sooo nice and fresh. I came back today with my wife for lunch, the burgers where just delightful as where the ales. My wife loved it and is now arranging a night out so we will be returning. Awesome place, awesome staff, awesome food, awesome ales.

You just gotta try the BBQ plate here. THAT BRISKET! Good god, it was good. Awesome space, great for bigger groups and wonderful beers. Well worth a visit!!!

My husband has just had his first Boneface beer - The Unit. What a fantastic beer, loved the hoppy aromas and can't remember having a better beer. We'll visit on the weekend.

Good food, good beer, good staff, and good atmosphere. Hope to go to a quiz night in the future!
