Primo love this place and that meat platter BOOM wow the flavours are to die for but i must try something new from the menu next time round but each time i come im drawn to that meat platter lol oh and love the brews too great place and great service ��
Boneface Brewery does amazing food. The best food I ever had in my life, so tasty, so many good flavours - never had anything like it. Good price too. Couldn't fault anything and I'm fussy. Shared the duck gravy poutine, buffalo chicken bites and lamb ribs with the bf, we couldn't get through it all, was so filling and delicious. Literally the best place to eat in Upper Hutt. Probably the whole Hutt Valley tbh.
We got the 2 person bbq platter, the brisket was juicy, the sausage had a nice spice to them and a smokey flavour, the wings were slightly dry but had a nice flavour to them.
The best part was the Ribs and Beans they were full of flavour, the ribs were really moist and cooked really well. We also got the mac n cheese, it was tasty and it was a big portion.
Overall, nice atmosphere, the staff was really friendly and the food is great. Would definitely recommend coming here for a nice beer and meal
Awesome food. Food is good enough for 4 adults. Improvement that could bring: Beef could be bit more juicy. I dont like dry meat. Rest everything is good. Nice ambience for family treat.
Surprised for a Friday evening dinner to get a table in a city venue and be able to take a dog inside , great start, good vibes and cool place from a blink and miss it from the outside.
We had a few samples to figure which drinks to have served by the awesome bar staff - opting for The Wizard and a Plum sour. Great tasting drinks.
We ordered food for 3 was enough for 4 - brisket tacos, Korean fried chicken, garlic bread and for the the highlight Katsu Fries. The food was quick , hot and tasted good , thanks chef!
Would defo come back again for a beer or even just for the fries ( Boneface don't change them - they were perfect)

Great venue, and the food was delicious. We were there for lunch. There was plenty of parking. The staff were helpful and friendly. I do have a couple of things that weren't so good. The base in the music was too loud, which made it difficult for one of our family members who wears a hearing aid.
The second thing was the bathrooms. They had run out of paper, and there was urine on the floor. I would hate to see the state of the bathrooms tonight.

UPDATE: had lunch at Boneface yesterday, the great food is back. Had the buttermilk chicken and the aged sirloin - both were top notch!
I'm not exactly thrilled to write this but it looks like my recent experience has been others experience too in the past few days. We first visited early March 2021 based on rave reviews from friends about the food. We had a double birthday celebration and everyone was blown away by the food. This week we went back and the menu had been changed, new chef apparently. All the good menu items were gone and the food was literally glorified bar food. My boys both had burgers that were big sliders. It wasn't a cheap meal out ie the gourmet prices for pub grub. We don't drink so while I'm sure the beer is the main attraction it's really disappointing to have taken a turn like this. They did say the menu was only temporary so I really really hope they sort themselves out and bring back the amazing food.

Another small town brewery with great beer and a cool location. Has locally brewed and tasty beer. Excellent pub food, tried a meat lovers selection which was extroadinary. Having dogs welcome is a winning idea. Staff are friendly and helpful!
Highly recommend coming here. Place was packed when we arrived (without a booking) but the staff were super accommodating and sorted us out. Food was amazing and the service speed was incredible. Loved the beers we had ‘the unit’ and ‘the outlaw’
