Super quick service, excellent coffee and FINALLY a place that does decent almond milk! Would have come back again if we'd been in Wanaka longer - delicious coffee
Great place for a meal or coffee. We have been here twice during our recent trip and both times we had great meals and coffees. However, it is the little things that count that make a place extra special. I had ordered a soy latte and it had split, so I had left it aside while I ate my breakfast. A waitstaff must have noticed me not drinking the coffee and came up to me and offered to remake it as it had split. The 2nd coffee was made well. Thank you for your hospitality and good food/coffees. We will be returning again on our future trips.
Best cafe around. Their Hot Chocolates best in wanaka. Definitely reccommended for Breakkie. Nice and friendly customer service. Close to the lake.
My partner and I had a quick lunch here before getting ready for an event. This cafe seems to have a good cabinet and menu selection. Locals were coming in their lunch breaks, which I take as a positive sign.
I had the corn fritter stack, which was fresh, light and just what I needed. My partner had a BLAT and a berry smoothie. I was worried when the BLAT came out in club sandwich form as we have had some very poor toasted club sandwiches in the past. Luckily that wasn't the case this time, the sandwiches were lightly toasted and quickly devoured, along with the side of fries. The berry smoothie tasted of apple juice and needed more berries.
The service was quick plus the cafe has a light an airy feel to it. Good place to eat if you want to get away from the business of the lake front area.
Nice all day breakfast and lunch menu. The hot chocolate was spot on with a decent amount of foam. Pancakes were yum and friends eggs on toast were Cooked to perfection.
Really enjoyed this place. Three of us went for lunch, and were quite impressed with the selection of food - they even had a gluten free+vegan option, which is normally quite hard to find in smaller places. All three meals were great, and filling. The large size shoestring fries were huge, and cooked perfectly. Service was great. Would really recommend.
Been here two mornings in a row! Food is good, gotta try their specials and seafood platter. Mocha is perfect , not too thick but keeping the fragrance lingering in ur mouth after drinking. There is huge crowd all the time esp morning, so do come early. The best for breakfast n brunch in wanaka.

When I visit a cafe just for coffee, I don't usually write a review, unless it is unusually good or abominably bad. Several times I've dropped into Ritual for coffee and a scone/muffin/cookie and on each occasion I've come away with a warm feeling. The place has an X factor, an ambience - partly but not only because of the friendly, attentive staff. The coffee is as good as it gets (in my opinion). The food is always fresh and tasty, even at 4pm.
And another thing: as a long or short black drinker, I resent being expected to subsidise those who prefer flat whites, lattes, capuccinos and other milk based concoctions. Thankfully many (but not all) cafes seem to have moved away from a "one price fits all" policy and do charge a little less for the no milk selections. To Ritual's great credit, they go further than most, charging only $3.00 for a short or long black but $4.50 for a flat white, latte etc. User pays, as it should be. Well done, Ritual Espresso!
Even without the price differential, if I lived and worked in Wanaka I would be an every day customer. It just feels right.
I ordered a hot cappuccino, it doesn’t taste good as I expected as the taste of the coffee is too sour for me, no aroma. However, it has a rich foam with generous chocolate powder. Staff is friendly, helpful, and fast service. I may come back to try the food but not coffee

Incredible coffee! Best I had in Wanaka. Also tasty vegetarian sausage roll. Decor is a bit dated but a nice cosy feel. The staff were very nice and welcoming.

Coffee is usually a double espresso shot so no need to ask for a double shot unless you want 4 shots of espresso. (I didn’t )
The gluten free chocolate and raspberry brownie is a double yum!!!
Huge shout out to the staff who patiently worked out how to help two ladies who spoke no English work out what they wanted, needed and how to make the currency work!

Amazing food with some great flavors. The mountaineer's fuel breakfast was great, but I could have done without the homemade sausage; Too much seasoning in it that didn't let the meat flavor shine. No take out orders which seemed strange, but if you can wait it's a great breakfast choice.
We arrived 10 mins before they closed. To my dismay they gave me the most fantastic service:) I’ve been twice and I’ll be a repeat customer for sure. Thanks Chris!
I got the Montreal and my partner got the eggs Benedict, both really delicious, fresh and tasty. Great coffee and English breakfast tea too.
