I am not really a cafe type of person but since I am here to try new things and have not eaten breakfast yet, why not look for a nice cafe?
The place looks cramped and still under renovation but the service and the smiles they give to you was a great start.
Followed by a not-so-sweet Lewis Road Hot Chocolate and a tantalising serving of beef brisket with poached eggs and hash. The eggs were beautifully cooked and I just loved how the yolked oozed away as I poked through it. Added it with a bit of pepper & salt and it all works together. However, a bit disappointed when I did it again on the second egg. There’s a slight inconsistency there but overall the food and drinks are great!
Delightful food. Almond milk in the coffee had an odd quirky taste, maybe it as Home made but great either way to have the option. Looks like wellington is far ahead of Auckland here
My friends and I often come here to get coffee and study and we love it. Friendly service, awesome vibes, comfortable seating and great coffee. If you're looking for somewhere to have a casual work meeting, catch up with friends or stress over uni work, Franks is the place to go.
Looks small from the outside but does also have seating upstairs. Place is nice and clean with a good feel and decor. Service is friendly and the coffee is strong enough and smooth, really hard to find a good, smooth americano i have found because the bitterness is often masked by sugar or milk, this place does it well.
Very good coffee. Lovely service. Busy morning hearing other customers compliment about their food and drinks is a very good sign. Will definitely come back again.
It's always nice to catch up with old rallies from way back when. Meeting up with an accountant friend who works nearby brought me along to his local latte to break out old memories. This Cafe is very intimate and has a small upstairs space easy and comfortable enough to relax in. Staff were friendly this afternoon but the barista was pretty new and nearly spilt my piping hot beverage all over me, talk about hot service eh. Anyway this is a nice wee place to grab a caffeine fix. Will keep noted next time I'm working on the Terrace.
Fantastic coffee, crazy tempting cabinet (avoid eye contact with the donuts and giant cookies or you'll fall), and really friendly and laid-back staff. The space is more spacious than it initially seems, and the decor is really lovely.
I've had to update my feedback as at May 2017, because I've had since had brunch at Frank's. Multiple times. I bring all my visiting out-of-town workmates. They now request nothing but Frank's when in town, and also get me to send photos of the donut selections (?) when they return to their respective cities. Frank always remembers how I like my coffee, even when missing a few weeks in between. Just go here. That's all.
Extremely good Coffee! It never disappoints along with the food, their sweet and savoury selection is amazing! A must go to spot for any wellingtonian who loves coffee!
Great cafe, really a hidden gem in central Wellington. Been here multiple times and the coffee never disappoints. Strong, smooth, and honestly one of the best coffees I've had in this city. Even more importantly, their hot chocolate is made with whittaker's chocolate milk! This makes the beverage silky and rich.
If you get the chance, try the Nutella or the salted caramel donuts. They are to die for. I've also tried the savoury offerings and they are really enjoyable for the price.
The service here is impeccable; I'm always greeted with warm smiles, and there's plenty of seating upstairs if you come with a bigger group too. Would recommend stopping by at least once--but I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes the first of many!

Grabbed a takeaway coffee here yesturday morning. Nice modern, clean n friendly cafe. Great light area with seating upstairs would be nice on a sunny day. Coffee was well made, ok flavour and milk texture. The cafe was busy with the early morning rush but our drinks arrived in good time with a smile at a reasonable price. All ok here, if I lived closer I'd be a regular.
