Great atmosphere at the Welsh Dragon Bar, open/garden area is very nice to sit out in the summer and enjoy a Monteiths. Some food and drinks are quite expensive but it makes up for it with the incredible service and great vibes.

Awesome pub meals. I had the homemade chicken masala pie, hubby had welsh chicken, and son had Bacon/beef burger. All so yummy. Great decor. Check out the ceiling mural. Handy walk from our motel. Will definitely be back.

Could do with some updating and better food options but everyone is struggling at the moment so maybe cost is an issue. Speakers were a bit loud.

Great pub and best roast dinner. You normally need to book 1 1/2 weeks ahead but came early and didn't know about the booking. Connor, the barman asked the chef if he could do an extra meal and he very kindly OKed the request. Lucky 😁😁😁. Booked now for 2 weeks time

Four stars for being different, passionate and staying loyal. Made the decision to cross the road to the bar literally built on an island in the middle of the road. Nice and relaxed, laid back and casual. If you weren't sure it was Welsh before you walked in you will be absolutely sure once you walk in and look at the numerous items and articles the adorn the walls. Staff are friendly and you might even see some true Welsh. Various seating options both indoors and outdoors. New Zealand's only Welsh bar and a title I'm sure will be difficult to take.

We hosted my sister's 30th here last Saturday evening and can absolutely recommend the space, hospitality and food for a laid back, friendly vibe for any occasion. The manager, Hannah and chef, Jake were so happy to accommodate anything. The bouncer (I'm sorry I can't remember his name) and the other staff were also so friendly and it made our group so comfortable. Everyone has been saying how great their night was and it was the perfect venue. Food was great value and very tasty, drinks reasonably priced, the function area ideal for anything from 20-70 guests. We will be back again in the future. Thanks team!
