In my humble opinion, one of the best coffee places in Wellington. The Roast is so good that you won't be able to stop with one cup, especially even if you just like coffee, let alone love it. Go ahead and try, you won't regret this.

Always a quality coffee at Raglan, everyone from the design school on Wigan Street hits this place up for a pretty choice cuppa and the price makes it unbeatable. Staff are crackup too

A chain of student flat/garage coffee shops. High end where the expensive real estate is in Herd street but in Abel Smith its definitely fitted-in rather than fitted-out. Garage roller door entrance gives it an intentional "we're too cool to care" feel. Thick ply counters and constructions, 80's eclectic furniture - unburnt student flat couches out the back, a lazy boy would have not surprised me.

A large photo of Albert Einstein being spray painted makes an intellectual urban guerrilla statement along the back wall. A few mags/books - surfing and a book on beaches I guess make a nod to Raglan.

Demographic is 20-30s. To digress I often wonder whether the period furniture used in cafes (in this case 80s) roughly equates to the time when the intended customers were about 5yrs old at the time they came out - just a thought. Anyway this version of retro cool is a decade later than Fidels, deluxe etc where the demo seems older.

The coffee and service.

Two very pleasant ladies behind the two twin group La Marzoccos were flat out. We ordered a flat white and trim cap. Both were good, reasonably well textured, in your face coffee, unburnt and with an interesting citrus sharp flavour. So good interesting coffee.

Raglan also sells T-shirts and other stuff, and combined with the fact that there are now three of them, it moves psychologically from the lone artisan new kid on the block to something a bit more commercial, perhaps slightly contrived cool.

But yet the coffee is good and that's what's really important.

Coffee is so affordable and some of the best I've had in Wellington! Cosy and cool environment with the relaxed couches and cool Einstein mural. Staff are friendly and the cookie I had from there was a great accompaniment with the coffee and so well priced. All the baked goods look amazing! Excited to return.

Always great coffee, friendly and personal service from Jed and the crew, relaxed atmosphere, visiting here is a daily ritual. Quite often there are temptations on the counter that cannot be avoided.

This is a little coffee place just tucked away down Abel Smith Street. I usually get a takeaway every Sunday morning before heading to the markets.

It has consistently great coffee, and it's cheaper than anywhere else I know of – $2.50 for a black coffee and $3 for white, and just add 50c on for takeaway. There staff are friendly and laid back which suits the vibe.

Wicked little cafe hiding out in Wellington. Coffee is very light and mellow, great way to start the day. 6am opening is amazing compared with everyone else’s 7 to 8am opening

Cool cosy little place. Especially if you student, you will love even more. Amazing coffee at very reasonable cost. You can seat there and read if you like. I will highly recommend. You will love coffee. Service was great. They don't have selection of food so don't go with any hope.

Beautiful place to have a coffee with friends and family. The staff members are friendly and helpful and are willing to help you make decisions about their great choices of coffee. The atmosphere is very simple and easygoing. I really recommend this place to visit and enjoy the beautiful artistic place.

Been a regular, everyday day for a year, love everyone that works here. The place has not only the best but cheapest coffee in Wellington!! And youll see it made infront of you at top notch speed and quality. They also sell there own Raglan Roast Beans that are Gorjus. In the back of the shop lies a large open area with sick as decor and has such a cool social vibe with chess boards couches everywhere and magazine galore. Also right behind the Te Aro campus which is perfect

A small busy place. The coffee was for me to brutal dark rosted. It lost flavors, but that is my taste. The quality was good and as said it was super busy on a normal morning.

Quite frankly the best coffee experience I have ever had in either the north or south hemisphere. The double espresso was delicious, made deftly without delay and was a meagre 2.5 NZD. The couches were well worn into and comfortable, as taken from homes where they had been loved for years and the experience I had sipping on my espresso, reading my book and looking at the people and artwork of a creative and incredibly cost reductive style was beyond pleasant. All in all, I come from the Great Lakes region where quaint coffee shops reign far and wide across Michigan and Wisconsin and Raglan Roast Coffee would undoubtably have an esteemed, almost mythical reputation. The quality of product and price-point delivery has absolutely no competition anywhere else that can even approach it. 10/10 Buy a T-Shirt. Support this great local business.

My absolute favourite coffee shop. Here evey other day. 3 dollars per coffee, friendly, fast and genuine service! Artsy vibe with indoor couches. Beautiful live music gigs some evenings with Gold Dust Productions.
