Good food, good atmosphere, good space, nice staff.
Getting off the train to start your day can be brightened up by popping in here for a quick hot drink or a bit of hearty food. Large space so you can enjoy as a group or just chill on your own and watch some sport on the screens dotted about - sound can be a bit of a problem with lag from one getting quite annoying.
Or just grab a literal bowl of hot chocolate and wait for your delayed train to sort itself out, and if it doesn’t, the bar is large and welcoming 👍🏽

Cheap eats on menu, but very basic, toasted bread not buttered but comes with butter 🧈 on a $10 breakfast, including 2 poached eggs. Venue is cold and parts of it have a breeze flowing through on a cold Southerly or Northerly day. Customer service has improved hugely with smiling and helpful front of house team. The filtered coffee is better than on Air New Zealand, which is a bonus.

I've been coming here for my coffees the past few months! Highly recommend, the service is amazing, very quick and they are consistent, my second visit and they remembered my order! Bonus that the coffee sizing is generous and affordable. Keep up the fab work!

March2021: Fun bar, busy, at the train station.. Last stop before the train, or up to the CakeTin for any function.. Mine was a rugby game. Big variety of cliental passed through while I was there. A Stag party, the oppositions fans, families.

A glich in their system meant our orders didn't get processed. A staff member attended to us after about 45 mins and found why we weren't eating! They replaced our order but only one was delivered as requested, other was taken from the snack menu. Staff were very apologetic and gave all at our table (4) coffee and cakes to share. Reimbursing the cost of the meal not delivered means we have faith in this cafe and will try it again.

Haven't been to Trax for 6 years 😕. It hasn't changed much but obviously still gets its fair share of walk in commuters. Was really busy but food ordered arrived in a reasonable time. Staff were great.

This place is just opposite my hotel and after visiting the beehive came here to charge my phone and had some refreshments too, not alot here as it is more of a kiosk with a nice open dining area opposite, where we sat down in the corner under the tele to charge up and take time out. handy too for Wellington commuters too.

I have to travel to Wellington fairly often for work and found this to be a nice, handy pub in the train station, with great grub, a nice wine selection and lovely staff. I couldn't help but notice the phone charging station in the corner by the TV. These are so common in the UK and the US, but they are hard to find in New Zealand, so that was a wonderful bonus for someone like me who needs to use their mobile a lot for work. Will definitely be back!

Popped in for a bite and the staff were warm and friendly, food was good. Nice quiet place to sit down, eat and wait for your train.<br/>Had a lamb filo parcel for $5.5 - which was quite an enjoyable snack before taking the train, in my opinion.

The only thing Trax has going for it is its location. The food is average, the atmosphere isn't great and the clientele is meh. Had breakfast here. Prices more expensive than most cafes. Had eggs on toast. The bread was store bought sliced bread, was not impressed for the price. The eggs were well-prepared but bland.

We went to Trax one morning for a far too early breakfast catch up before work. The place is neat and tidy, and not surprisingly busy at 7am considering its location. <br/><br/>I ordered the eggs on toast (scrambled) with complimentary filter coffee. Food came out rather fast, which was fantastic as we were in a rush to get to work on time, and the fact we had five people dining. The portion was massive, definitely more than I was expecting for the price ($10). Toast was super thick cut, like actually an inch of bread, and the portion of eggs was crazy. Taste wise, they weren't the best eggs I've had - real standard and lacked seasoning. The filter coffee, well, I'm not entirely sure if you could call it coffee - it was really coffee coloured warm water. <br/><br/>Trax's redeeming feature definitely had to be the staff. They were warm, welcoming and had smiles on their dials the whole time. Definitely something that's hard to come at that time of the morning! <br/><br/>Trax is perfect if you aren't looking for a "gourmet" meal, but are just wanting something cafeteria standard to get you through.
