I happily give them this 5/5 for the loveliest experience of southern food provided. I'm from Auckland and never have I tasted Chicken waffles so good. Alongside it my kind of staple of the Supreme cold brew served in a pint and attended by the most easygoing and friendly waiter around.
The waffles crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, chicken tenders juicy and biting on the outside, maple syrup to tie it all together and the richest maple butter.
Poutine, chicken sandwich and biscuits all hit the mark very well also but yes I would come down for the waffles anytime.

Came today for lunch and had a great time. Owner was there and he was very pleasant and accommodating. We enjoyed our meals. It was our 3rd year anniversary so we were shouted a glass of Prosecco each which was very nice. I ordered the Ruben sandwhich which I enjoyed and was full afterwards. My partner enjoyed his chicken burger and we also got some chicken wings to share and poutine fries which were both really yummy. Only negative was it would of been nicer if the gravy on the poutine fries was more richer and more of a darker gravy. Partner ordered the battered Oreo dessert and it was was yum. Service was really quick for us even though I have seen reviews of guests waiting a while for their food, we didnt experience this. Music may have been a bit too loud during dinning.
Had a nice chicken burger which could have had more sauce. Unfortunately wasn't a fan of the regular fries as they used the salt they use on the poutine fries. It didn't go well with the sauce. Dessert was nice and service was great.
Such good value for money! I'm new to Wellington and have already been here a couple of times! The burgers are soooo filling and quality made! Such good comfort food with their different styles of fries and mac n cheese!! Not to mention the salted caramel shake! 👌🏼 deffinately does not disapoint!
American diner styled joint. My favorite place for breakfast/brunch. Or just for food in general. Hot cakes were great 🙌. A stack of 3 was more than enough to be full.
Me and 5 other friends came here for Wellington on a plate on Wednesday 24 August. We all had the beef pot roast, which was a bit out of my comfort zone ( I tend to stick to salads and salmon and fish) lol. But it was absolutely delicious. ($25) We ordered a dessert, some kind of apple crumble cheesecake which was very very good ($10). The seating was a bit tight, the booth we were in was meant for 4 I think not 6, and we were seated near the entry way to the back/toilets and we think a back door was open as we were a bit cold. We should have mentioned it to them but we were busy chatting and catching up. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place had a good vibe. Yes I may revisit.
I love this place. Great food great beer. First time visitors must try the pickle back, it's like a liquid cheese burger and a great starter before trying their delicious Reuben, double cheese burger hot wings or butter milk fried chicken. The food is great to share and very American. If you're looking for healthy vegetables look elsewhere. This place gets bagged for bad service but that's only because it's run by very young people who are more focused on chatting to guests and being friendly than running efficient tables. If you want something just holler out someone will always help you out. Coming here is a special ritual for me and some of my closest friends. 5/5
Came and had lunch on Saturday, it was busy but there were still tables available. The food was yum, I had the 3 stack of pancakes and fried chicken. The chicken was great, the skin was crispy, and it wasn't greasy or dry. The pancakes were nice and fluffy but I could of went without the maple syrup on them as they became a bit too sweet. The portions are huge I couldn't finish mine. Deffinately coming back to try other things on the menu.
Amazing food... Extremely well thought out the chicken burger is a must as are the fries which have the best seasoning. Prices have got a lot cheaper. Staff are really friendly.. Just an all around good experience.
Upscale diner vibe. Music list was good but just played a tad too loud. Place just relocated to its brother resto five & dime's location. When asked, I was told that the idea was to merge the two restaurants and upgrade the menu of five boroughs. First time here so I can't tell the difference.
A good variety of burgers (beef brisket; buttermilk fried chicken; pastrami; veg patty available on request) and fried chicken (buttermilk fried; buffalo wings; Sichuan). The wine selection is great, some very interesting cocktail mixes, but beers less so. There was only Asahi on draft, with a couple of craft beers in bottles/cans.
We enjoyed the brisket burger (plus royale), the buttermilk fried chicken, as well as the tuna poke (on the specials menu). Juicy and delicious burger. Those with bigger appetites could opt for double patties. Chicken was fried to perfection - though perhaps I would like it better if the meat was more marinated so that the awesome flavours were not just on the skin.
Five and Dime was great! Good vibes, very delicious food, friendly staff. We had late night dinner there on a Wed night. The Coca Cola lamb stick was juicy and sweet, and the side salad with blue cheese dressing and toasted walnut was very good as well.
Beautiful presentation. Very juicy burger. Nicely seasoned fries. The baklava dish is just what I needed to finish off my meal. Love it and will definitely be going back again soon 😊
Absolutely delicious burgers. Full of flavor, good portions, crunchy fries. Tried the Brooklyn one with Pastrami - what a heavenly combination. Mac'n Cheese were also super good. Creamy and truffled - to die for. Friendly and fast service. Would definitely go again if I lived in Welly.
Could this be real? Did I eat there every day for the weekend in Wellington? Do they have the best burger, the best popcorn chicken and the best fries on earth? Do they have Kiwi lager in a can?

The food was nice, the burger and chips were tasty and I'd definitely eat there again once it reopens. The staff were really nice too but a little on the slow side and that's why I'm marking it 4/5. Took ages just to get served a drink and that was 10 minutes sitting at the bar. Took another 10 minutes to get served for food once we got a table.
This is the best burger in town - make sure you don't miss out on their 'secret' menu with all their old favourites. The staff here are fantastic too.
Best damn food in town. Prices are totally worth what you get.. food so filling you won't want to eat anywhere else for the rest of the day!
