Cheap and cheerful eatery. Very competitively priced dishes varying from $10 for soup and toast to $21 for fish, salad and chips. We had the marinara pizza at $20. We had the gluten free option and agreed it was the best gf pizza we have ever had. Its topping of prawns, salmon and capers was generous and tasty

Great place to go with your family. A huge menu with great food and great prices. This is the Mexican Pizza which was delicious.
One of my favourite things about this restaurant is that the staff are very friendly, and the restaurant has been family run locally for many years.
Great place to go with small children. There is an amazing children’s bookstore across the street and it makes for a great Saturday morning.

Right, so this place definitely seems to have changed. We weren't in at the right time probably, so I would give it another go, cos there was not much going on but the place around the corner was a queue out the door. Nevertheless we had great coffee that came exactly as ordered and the "cabinet food" looked great. Friendly service as well.

This little cafe is tucked away in Kilbirnie , in a small shopping plaza. It was one of a small number of eateries open on Sunday, and likely the only one not an international franchise. We’d stopped for a coffee but decided on a light lunch. I had the Seafood Chowder, and had to wait quite a while as the place was very busy. It was worth the wait; a creamy tasty chowder made with a mix of fish, including mussels and vegetables, topped with a sprinkle of finely chopped parsley. The garlic bread was more adventurous than most that are offered in cafes. The garlic butter was laced with mustard seeds, making for a brilliant addition to the fish.
My partner chose the vegan samosa, which was well received (a lot sooner than my chowder) with a crisp batter and sour cream accompaniment.
Definitely a find!

Been coming here for 2 years and the big breakfast is amazing, so delicious, good portions and cheap prices aswell. The coffee is top notch and highly recommend. The service is consistent and friendly. Always making you feel welcomed. Wadha is amazing thank you for the service, best cafe in kilbirnie and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a new cafe spot.

Just had brunch here, never been before, had the misguided impression it was a "greasy spoon" type of establishment! I was so so wrong. Had eggs Benedict with a side of wedges. Poach eggs perfectly cooked with bright yellow unctious yolks, thick slices of fresh toasted white bread and hollandaise to die for. However, it was the wedges that were pure magic. No idea how they got them so crunchy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside, in fact I don't want to know, would prefer to imagine they are produced by the wedge wizard and delivered directly to my table.
Thought I'd keep this wee gem of a cafe to myself but I just can't keep a secret

Food is good considering the price. Big brekky has always been the fave. Serving sizes are very generous and the staff are always willing to help and offer good service. Seating areas are great - caters for both indoor and outdoor types of people.

Great place, really good food for the entire family.
Good range of counter food, pizzas 🍕 can be gluten free, fries 🍟 are generous enough to share.
The plaza big breakfast is enough for a big blokes meal, and the berry smoothie 🥤 is just right to wash it down.

Love the Mediterranean artwork in the pizza area.
Could probably upgrade their board menus though but it definitely didnt detract by the quality of food they served up.

This place is my no. 1 go to for Kilbirnie bites. The food is very well priced and the menu has an interesting variety of options that all sound scrumptious. I like the staff heaps and it's nice to see an owner who cares about the spot. Great outdoor seating, cabinet food is also lovely. Very comfortable atmosphere, definitely a place to check out!

I was pleasantly surprised as I didn't realize this place was more than a pizza place. Their breakfast meals were delicious and HUGE! Well worth the price and the staff were very friendly. Yum hot chocolates and mochas. This will be my new coffee hangout and I will definitely recommend to friends. I cannot wait to come back to try their pizzas and pasta.

excellent food, every time. always so yum, massive portions, great price. the service can be hit and miss, they stare at you from behind the counter while you're reading the menu.. But honestly we go there almost every weekend for lunch. Never had a bad food experience :)

Finally got around to trying one of the woodfired pizza's here. Went for the Zorba. Unlike earlier reviews, the toppings were sparse unfortunately. Beautiful light base but one thing that would've made the whole pizza come together (toppings aside) would have to be more cheese.<br/><br/>**Another visit, got da vinci pizza..... terrible. Refer to picture. No flavour at all.

After we heard plaza pizzeria they changed menu and they make bit unique fast food cabinet Went here for lunch with my tow friends<br/>I had double chicken burger which was huge giant been burger <br/>Full tasty and tender chicken .<br/>My partner had zorba pizza (v)<br/>Omg really surprised by the quality of pizza awesome genres size full of vege topping .<br/>Our friend had kumara rosti house with bacon. Poachd eggs hollandaise and avo.<br/>Friend said was really nice kumara patties <br/>And the best hollandaise ever.<br/>Coffee was great.<br/>Only thing have to say the tea that's friend had it was no flavor .<br/>All come again and again. <br/>

Very nice been here three times so far! First time was amazing had a lovely eggs Bene the second time I had salmon Bene but lacked a little bit from the first time so did my wife's meal. Their scrambled eggs and bacon on toast was the best I've ever had and the prices are amazing. I've also tried their lamb burger and chips which was great. I was quite surprised at the bad reviews here but they are from ages ago. I'm definitely going to be a regular!!

Really surprised at the comments below. I have eaten here a few times over the past twelve months and have never had an issue...service have always been friendly, the coffee has been fine...the prices seem fair....try the bacon and eggs - it's really nice bacon.<br/><br/>It's a cafe, not a fine dinning experience...it's not pretentious and doesn't claim to be - as the advert says - 'it does exactly what what is says on the tin'<br/><br/>In fact, I've just convinced myself to call in their for breakfast later today.

The epitome of average. No other way to put it, verging on bad. Mains are overpriced, really basic sort of food and pretty terrible coffee. Service can't be faulted though and nice enough space. <br/><br/>I wouldn't recommend it, but you could do worse. Plaza pizzeria if you want better reviews strive to make better food and coffee, you guys are cruising and there's a need for better cafe food where you're at.

Overall very awful experience. We ordered a brownie and the Memphis melt once we could eventually work out what the terribly worn out menu board actually said. The brownie which we asked to be heated came out cold and tasted like it were a week old. The Memphis melt was literally chicken and cheese melted into 2 slices of white bread plus they forgot the avocado and pesto which they eventually brought out once we had finished our below average meal. Utterly terrible dining experience overall, I wouldn't even come back if I had a free voucher.

Complete waste of time. I ordered a dinner plate, and was told 10 min. 20 min later I revived 1/2, of the one dish that I had ordered, when asked where the rest was I got a confused look and told that it would be there soon, I waited another 5 min then asked for my money back and left. All my friend told me not to go here but I thought that I should give it a go, I really should have listened to my friends.

For $16.50 it is hands down the worst pizza I have ever eaten, the toppings were minimal and of a very low quality. The Mexican was watery and tasteless and the Smoke House had a spoon full of chicken. I will not be going back there and strongly recommend that you avoid it too.

I had an ok coffee here. The berry smoothie was lacking though. The upstairs was a lot warmer and quieter and so I found a table and tucked myself away. It would be nice if there were couches upstairs as the chairs can be a little uncomfortable. Theres free wifi but it seems quite slow? Not sure if I'll return as there's other options for food close by. Adequate is definitely the word I'd use for this place.

I ordered a Panini, two cakes and a coffee. The cake and coffee were served. After waiting for another 10 minutes, the Panini was not served, so my daughter went back to the counter and asked for it. My daughter and I discussed the cost of the food and we realized the staff member overcharged us. When informing her about this, she asked for my receipt, which she did not present to me after my purchase. She went to check, realized the mistake and told me that I was incorrect with the amount of the change. Not even a smile nor an apology for our inconvenience. The Panini was heated, not toasted. The coffee was not hot. I will not venture to this café again.

Sorry but this place was awful. I took my daughter there for her birthday, a good range to choose from but place was filthy and food was heated up in microwave. Coffee was terrible and the final touch of the owners sitting by us on other side of window to have a cigarette was just plain gross. Come on guys, sharpen up, you're in a growing market and you need to shine. Not going to happen on your current state. Reminded me of an episode of Kitchen Nightmares.

Staff friendly, but cafe looks shabby and tired. Coffee reasonable but the coffee cup was grimy and the spoon filthy. Companions tea was served in stainless steel pot that needed a really good clean as well.<br/>Tables dirty and smears over them, so we sat outside.<br/>Would not go back.

The food ranges from awful to average. I've eaten here a few times, and once had french toast that was raw in the middle; another time a vegetable panini that contained ingredients that were really on the dubious side. On the other hand their fries were quite good. Service follows a similar pattern; on more than one occasion an ordered item has simply failed to materialise, although after complaining this was quickly remedied. The coffee is average. All in all, we go in occasionally because it is conveniently located, but I really don't recommend it.

The staff fell into two camps, incredibly friendly and warm (if a little OTT)... and looking like they needed an incredibly good wash and making me scared that they might be touching my food.<br/><br/>The foods flavour was quite good, but the ingredients were well past their best, the portion size dreadful and to be utterly honest, I worried I was going to walk away with food poisoning.<br/><br/>2/10
