Review Little Havana - Whakatane

We’ve been eating there recently and I’m strongly disagree with the last comments. The service is amazing, the woman was really friendly, kind and listening. My partner ask for a candle in our table and she did it with pleasure and smiling. I had best food in my life, however I had a really much worst. It’s a good average for a break in your day. I recommend the gnocchis and my partner the steack. Plus they look like they really want to improve their self, I’m absolutely happy to support this business. They have great potential. Thanks again for the dinner 🙏

Wow, what can I say the service was amazing the food exceptional and the all round feeling of the place just divine! I will definitely come back here next time I am in town. I had the Paella Cubana which was so tasty, my only complaint is... I wanted more. It was that good! The dessert I chose was their specialty "The Castro" which was a chocolate cigar filled with baileys Mouse and an almond biscotti served with edible ash... a delicious and creative way to end a lovely meal. My Foance had the Churrasco and Pasionfruot and Contrieu Cheesecake. Which he loved.

Awesome food and amazing service! I can recommend the Pork belly as an entree, the traditional Cuban pulled Beef and rice dish and the lime cheesecake. Will come back again:)

Stunningly great food, beautiful flavors and great atmosphere. Cocktails are amazing and the mojito will run your car. Absolute must come here.

Had a great dinner here. Food was fabulous, staff worked very hard looking after all of us. Good atmosphere and good service, Food, a good feel of Cuba. Will come again.

Yummy!! Ceviche was fresh, I put hot sauce on mine, delish. Partner had the Steak with chimichurri Sauce, salad & chips I had a seafood Paella, was so full of flavour loved it. Kids had chicken nuggets and chips, can't go wrong there and was topped off with complimentary ice creams for them as well. We all really enjoyed our meal. Thank you.

The most amazing place to eat out in Whakatane. It's set and a great environment and the food is always fresh and some of the best tastes I've experienced. Always eat here when staying in Whakatane.

We wandered in off the street and were welcomed warmly. The food was fresh and delicious. Service was prompt and attentive. Would definitely return here again when visiting Whakatane.

The owner is a classic: seating customers and coming to see how the food is, chatting with his customers when he is free. We especially enjoyed the decor and the genre of Spanish songs set at a perfect level where you can still enjoy a conversation and the music at the same time. Growing up in Florida I wouldn’t say it is authentic Cuban food, BUT it was delicious with a Spanish flavour and such an amazing atmosphere. We had the scotch filet, mojito chicken, ropa vieja and all were immensely enjoyed. The Cuban cigar dessert was a clever idea and loved by all. Even though some would say it is pricey we look forward to dining there again.

Pete is an amazing host, the drink selection is brilliant, the food's great, and the desserts are wonderful. It's a great experience.

Really enjoyed our time here tonight; had drinks, dinner and finished with dessert, have absolutely no complaints! Everything was absolutely delicious; It was amazing and the service exceeded our expectations. Highly highly recommended this place. Thank you so much!!

We arrived late but the owner held the restaurant open for us. He was serving and did a great job reading the room, convincing us to try some sensational rum. The food was superb and excellent value. This place deserves to be permanently packed. Only sad we weren't able to return there the following day since the chef was off sick.

Drinks and dinner. Not bad at all. Good sized portion for me. Even tried the local brew ie Peachy Hazy IPA.

Peter and his daughter made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was fun, the service was fast and the food was amazing! We ordered tapas plates of ceveche, fresh tacos, beef empanadas, prawn cocktail, and beer battered fries - this was a good amount of food for 2, and it was all beautifully cooked and presented. We topped it off with the restaurant's signature chocolate cigar for dessert - high recommended! We will definitely be back soon :)

Great evening, lovely location, served quickly. The fish tacos were the best I’ve had and I’ve had a lot of fish tacos. The cigar was so delicious. Everything was fresh and delish. Also quite a lot of gluten free options which is nice!

We had the pleasure of having dinner here tonight and everything was beyond amazing. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was great. The owner went above and beyond for us ensuring we were all happy and enjoying our meals as well as keeping our kids laughing through the night. We already can't wait to come back. Fantastic setting and lovely, friendly staff. Recommend the Cigars oh n the Mojitos sounded like they hit the spot
