We’ve been eating there recently and I’m strongly disagree with the last comments.
The service is amazing, the woman was really friendly, kind and listening. My partner ask for
a candle in our table and she did it with pleasure and smiling.
I had best food in my life, however I had a really much worst. It’s a good average for a break in your day. I recommend the gnocchis and my partner the steack. Plus they look like they really want to improve their self, I’m absolutely happy to support this business. They have great potential.

I had the Paella Cubana which was so tasty, my only complaint is... I wanted more. It was that good!
The dessert I chose was their specialty "The Castro" which was a chocolate cigar filled with baileys Mouse and an almond biscotti served with edible ash... a delicious and creative way to end a lovely meal. My Foance had the Churrasco and Pasionfruot and Contrieu Cheesecake. Which he loved.
Awesome food and amazing service! I can recommend the Pork belly as an entree, the traditional Cuban pulled Beef and rice dish and the lime cheesecake. Will come back again:)
Stunningly great food, beautiful flavors and great atmosphere. Cocktails are amazing and the mojito will run your car. Absolute must come here.
Had a great dinner here. Food was fabulous, staff worked very hard looking after all of us. Good atmosphere and good service, Food, a good feel of Cuba. Will come again.
Yummy!! Ceviche was fresh, I put hot sauce on mine, delish. Partner had the Steak with chimichurri Sauce, salad & chips I had a seafood Paella, was so full of flavour loved it. Kids had chicken nuggets and chips, can't go wrong there and was topped off with complimentary ice creams for them as well. We all really enjoyed our meal. Thank you.

The most amazing place to eat out in Whakatane. It's set and a great environment and the food is always fresh and some of the best tastes I've experienced. Always eat here when staying in Whakatane.
We wandered in off the street and were welcomed warmly.

The owner is a classic: seating customers and coming to see how the food is, chatting with his customers when he is free. We especially enjoyed the decor and the genre of Spanish songs set at a perfect level where you can still enjoy a conversation and the music at the same time. Growing up in Florida I wouldn’t say it is authentic Cuban food, BUT it was delicious with a Spanish flavour and such an amazing atmosphere. We had the scotch filet, mojito chicken, ropa vieja and all were immensely enjoyed. The Cuban cigar dessert was a clever idea and loved by all. Even though some would say it is pricey we look forward to dining there again.
