Perfect portion and great flavours. Highly recommend. Excellent service and very welcoming.
▪️Injectable donut & chicken, leek pie-4/5▪️
Foxtrot’s injectable vanilla custard donut is SOOOOOO GOOD! I loved how soft and fresh it was. As a 9am breakfast, I probably had judgmental glances as the waiter served my poor life choice but YOLO😂 I also had their chicken, bacon and leek pie which was AMAZING. The pastry was a tad dry and overly flaky BUT THE FILLING was worth every bite. The relish accompanied with the pie was great added touch too. The whole meal including a flat white came to $22.50 which considering I really enjoyed my pie and donut, is worth the price. Definitely recommend their pie and donut😊
We had a very nice brunch here a while back
Food was excellent
Great flavours and quality
Service was nothing to write home about
Needs improv
Overall good experience
Cute little shop inside ponsonby central ; have lots of deliciously looking cabinet food ; tried their cardamon donut - not my taste but the texture really soft and good, their white chocolate cake was so good
Came here on a busy Saturday. Got the peanut pancakes which was Divine. When it was first put In front of me at the table I was a little annoyed that it was only 1 but I actually struggled to finish it cause it was sooo much. It was light and fluffy and probably the best pancake I’ve ever had!!! It came with this really creamy vanilla bean ice cream and a coconut infused sauce which I couldn’t get enough of. Also got a mango smoothie. That was alright. Nothing I would write home about. Most staff were friendly but there was one that was a bit rude.... she dropped water all over while she was cleaning the table which then went down our legs etc and then when we asked if she needed any help she just wanted to know if the seat was wet...... the hek!
A great cafe tucked inside Ponsonby central. They do a range of freshly made pies and quiches as well as cabinet treats in addition to a full brunch menu. It's also one of the first places in Auckland that serves the injectable donuts! It's a nice place for Sunday brunch or dessert whenever you feel like a treat!
The coffee was roasted really nicely. Vibe is nice and so is service. I just ordered the self infecting donut - it was pretty nicely and the dough was done very well. Although quite heavy and sweet, I definately enjoyed it :)
Lively ambiance which I guess is not surprising for Ponsonby cafes, Foxtrot is a sweet place to meet up for coffee and something to eat. I came here to catch up with a few friends. Was a nice experience, the bustling atmosphere was great and the coffee was pretty good. Had ordered a pie myself and thought it was quite nice, great pastry on the outside which was crisp while the filling was hearty.
Showstopper: Just a great café that does everything well
Overall Grade: B+
Ponsonby Central in all its trendy glory would have been our favourite lunch spot if only parking wasn’t such a perilous adventure Every. Single. Time. But it’s hard to stay away from Foxtrot Parlor, especially when our last review was a whopping 4 years ago when it first opened - we felt an update was much needed. The place was packed as always, as was their cabinet with a succulent selection of pies like rabbit, moroccan lamb, beef and stilton. Then their printed menu promised everything from Peanut Parlour Pancakes to the traditional English Kedgeree and a Vietnamese Banh Mi to boot. We were spoilt for their choice in this eclectic café, and love the table numbers that were made from repurposed car number plates. If you’ve still got room for dessert, do try their donuts, complete with what looked like vintage surgical syringes from the 1900s… in the best possible way.

Stumbled upon here quite accidentally but very glad we did.
Ordered the haloumi and the peanut pancake which seems to be the highlight, and for good reason - it tastes just as amazing as the pictures look. The cabinet food all looked really awesome as well, would definitely have a hard time choosing next time I come! Overall just a decent, busy little brunch place in Ponsonby central.
Well here is another breakfast review or brunch if you fancy it. We were lost in the city (near Ponsonby) looking for a spot to eat before heading home and we were fortunate enough to stumble upon Foxtrot Parlour. Oh you never heard of it? Neither did we but so glad we did. I mean if you need to feed several picky eaters this could work. From breakfast burritos to pancakes to muesli. There something for everyone, even the kids. All types of baked goods, they had cinnamon rolls on our day (delicious) and coffee. Yes I know what place doesn't have coffee, but it's good coffee! Get there early if you want a seat though they got fairly busy on our day. They also have both indoor and outdoor seating, to keep in mind if you fancy sitting in the sun. The staff was pleasant and quick with our food and even got my takeaway coffee ready in a jiff as we were leaving. (Did I mention the great coffee). So to recap: Lost (check); Hungry (check); Want some great food with great atmosphere (check, check and check). Find your way here, you will not be disappointed!!
*Updated 17/4/22:
Food and coffee are still awesome, however becoming expensive for what you get in comparison to other cafés.
The menu can be misleading and didn't have prices for eggs on toast etc.

Great little cafe, music good, staff friendly and efficient. Coffee was very good and cosy atmosphere.
Only complaint is the rickety seating and tables.
We were visiting from Nelson and googled breakfast in Ponsonby and this cafe came up. So glad we popped in. Outstanding service, the food was delicious and we had a really good time during our visit - they even popped Dolly Parton on for us. Highly recommend a visit here. It will not disappoint. The coffee was great too.
I had the lamb Moroccan meat pie it was fabulous. All the plates were smaller but very tasty. The coffee was average.
There was a huge selection of baked goods including a few gluten free options, a nice brunch menu, lots of drinks to pick from (including milkshakes!). Coffee was delicious ! Small sitting area so it may be hard to get a spot
Wow! Clearly I need to get out more. We discovered this place from The Urban List Auckland as one of the top 18 best doughnuts in Auckland. What a wonderful Cafe with a great ambience and touched in between other wonderful little shops. The staff were wonderful and friendly. The doughnuts that we came for were fun and messy and delicious. We had the Berry and caramel and vanilla custard flavour doughnuts which you inject yourselves and we also had a berry milkshake it was all wonderful. We loved the little cafe and would definitely go back again for more delightful treats that you could see in the cabinets and those pies look amazing so we will be back. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Only had coffee but was amazing.
Excellent food. Very good coffee (had a long black). A little higher on the price side but quality matched price
This is the place you bring out-of-town guests to show them why you live in the coolest part of the country. Finding a seat is tricky and reminiscent of musical chairs at a kids party. We had the Rumblethumps, insanely good, and the black sticky rice which came topped with gorgeous fruit and coconut cream was next level. We'll definitely be coming back!
We love Foxtrot Parlour, we've been coming here several times over the past 8 months and it's consistently great. Amazing freshly baked savoury and sweet things - the cakes are all every bit as delicious as they look. The coffee is excellent, and the service is superb. It's a very relaxed and quirky place, very Auckland and very good !!
