Amazing coffee and croissants! We had a chocolate and an almond, they really are the best I’ve had in Auckland.
My only complaint is that the service wasn’t great, the woman who served us seemed a bit distracted, and very busy. It would have been nice to see more staff on to help.

🍴Cinnamon Cruffin + Almond Croissant
-----------------------------
Almost forgot to take photos as we enjoyed the comfort of cozy, timber interior all the while indulging in freshly made cinnamon cruffin and almond croissant between sips of perfectly brewed Peoples coffee.
Not even going to try explaining how much we loved every bite of their cabinet range; wont do them any justice.
P.S before we even got to doing this post, we went back for their epic sandwiches😍
The food here is amazing.. Simple menu but packs a punch. I love the sourdough here. Watching the Baker shaping the loaf is amazing. The taste is on point and their croissant is probably the best in Auckland comparing it to top bakeries in Auckland yes even amano. Coffee is good and hot x bun is better than ima cuisine.. Only thing is the lady serving us at the cashier can be friendlier and warmer. Other than that no complains ❤️
The BEST almond croissants that I’ve ever had and they’re even way better than the ones that I had in whole France. So crispy, buttery and flakey with amazing doughiness!! The vege sandwich was tasty as well. First bite kinda lacked flavour but after you tasted the filling inside it’s lit. Highly recommended this lovely cafe and it will definitely be my regular spot for brunch:) btw their sourdoughs were heaven!!
We planned to try almond croissants @fortgreenenz but they all sold out when I arrived ( around 12pm) 😔😔😔 But that’s fine, I was still so happy about my plain croissant 🥐 ~ and it’s a really nice shaped croissant ~ It’s crunchy outside and had soft, moist layers inside ~ And that pistachio roll was also amazing. Good amount of chopped pistachios and honey glazed outside was crunchy and sweet😋. Hot sandwiches are must-try there. So I had grilled cheese one and that’s cheesy, oily, creamy, crunchy ~ love it!
Fort greene has the most beautiful store front but its never been open while i walked past. Ive seen the bakers prepping many times and the bread has always looked the part.
Tried the meatball sandwich which was stunning such a good marinara flavour and excellent meatballs. Topped this up with the chilli sauce they make and its superb.
The cabinet is also amazing first time i have seen Almond pain au chocolate. Instant buy. One of the best pastries i have ever had
I love the baguette there. The sour dough is quite perfect for me. It is so good to have it with jam. The price is average based on they use real ingredients.
BEST ALMOND CROISSANT IVE EVER HAD! A solid 10/10. The plain croissant was nice to. Already planning my next visit to have the almond croissant again and probably try something else as well.
Food 10/10 Service 9/10 Ambience 9/10
Had a stroll around K Rd before deciding to come here for lunch. They are a bakery that also serves food. Most of their items are sandwiches.
I had the toasted cheese and a friend had the vege one. I personally found the taste of blue cheese to be a bit overwhelming for the toasted cheese. The pickles were really nice with it too. The vege sandwich was huge and very delicious. The veges and nuts inside the sandwich was tasty and filling. My favourite was the cassava chips though. Crispy on the outside and almost chewy on the inside and served with a spicy mayo. It was a nice side to go with the sandwiches.
A really nice place particularly if you are a sandwich person. Nice selection of filling and it was all very tasty.
The food at this place is just amazing. We had hot cross buns and croissant. Believe me when I tell you, this place has categorically the best croissant I've ever had in my life.
I forgot to take a picture of the croissant but will do so, the next time I go there (which will be soon).
The coffee is 'Peoples' so, naturally tasted quite good but you have to try the food of this place.
The cafe had a really nice atmosphere! Tried the almond croissant after hearing good things about it. It was a good almond croissant but it was slightly underwhelming - it had this subtle aftertaste that I did not really like. I wish they had other pastries and that the pastries were presented well with prices. The almond croissant was $8.50.
Fort Greene is a hidden gem that deserves five stars! The bakery exudes coziness with its warm atmosphere, creating the perfect setting for a delightful experience. The flat whites and croissants are simply superb, a testament to their commitment to quality. The staff's friendliness adds an extra layer of charm to the visit. While finding parking proved a bit challenging, the overall experience at Fort Greene makes it a must-visit spot for coffee and pastry enthusiasts alike!
OMELETTE & PLAIN CROSSAINT - Recommended dishes here.
The omelette is delicious, with the egg always cooked to perfection (not over cooked, yet a little soft inside) and the miso butter compliments it so well with it's salty miso smooth taste.
The plain Crossaint is one of my favourites in Auckland. Crunchy on the outside, yet so buttery soft inside. When you time it well to when it freshly comes out, the steam from the Crossaint and the crunchiness is next level.
Staff are always friendly and serves with a smile.
The coffee they use is People's coffee, which reminds me of Wellington alot and is just delicious!
Highly recommend this place!
Edit: Husband drove me around the city and the suburbs to check out the trending patisseries. I think this place is mostly listed as a sandwich/brunch place (i also don’t know if it’s trending) but it has the best pain au chocolat and croissants in Auckland. Staff are always nice and friendly and interior is cozy. While I haven’t tried everything, the sandwiches I’ve had are pretty good. They have a small menu which usually means they take quality seriously. Coffee is good (very important!). Been 3x this trip (despite staying in a hotel a bit far from KRoad) and every occasion was a delight.
Old review: So far the best pastry I’ve had in AKL. Friendly server. We ordered take away. Will try eating in next time.
We ended up ordering takeaway, but these were some of the best croissants we’ve ever had. The flat white and hot chocolate paired perfectly with them and the view of Auckland from Mount Eden! Would love to come back next time I’m in the city.
Great bakery and coffee shop, in iconic K'rd.
Beautiful Brisket Reuben Sandwich.
The best scrambled eggs of my life (I had the breakfast crossaint) and a really decent coffee. Loved the hot sauce made in house, which you can by bottles of. The whole time we were here, loads of people visited for takeaway coffee and baked goods so clearly a popular place with locals!
Visited on Sunday after lunch for a coffee and something sweet. First time here, really friendly and welcoming service. Lattes were great as were the croissants. Nice vibe and relaxed ambiance, will definitely return to try some of their famous sandwiches.
Great food and coffee. Wonderfully friendly service. I had the kimchi (homemade) grilled cheese sandwich. Excellent and flavorful. Great cup of cappuccino too!
Amazing fresh baking that’s definitely worth the walk! Staff might not be the friendliest but they’re so busy working flat out that it’s a good trade off for speed and quality 👍 highly recommend the cardamom bun 😋
