Our local! Perfect place to take the wife for a couple of cocktails. One of our favourite bars. Small, cosy and great staff.
We organised drinks for a large number of people here during a trip home from London, where we live. Pocket Bar were extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with which made organising remotely super easy. The evening was wonderful. Pocket was an amazing venue; the food was great and the atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommended!
Pocket Bar and Kitchen sits as a surprising find near the corner of Tuarangi Road in Grey Lynn. The glasshouse structure which is beautifully covered in greenery has quite the street appeal and the hanging baskets and wooden-fit out combined with graffiti splayed walls gives this indoor-outdoor flowing space quite the visual impact. Unlike the quiet stillness of a Friday lunch, we would expect this place to be buzzing in the evenings as people sip on their drinks and enjoy shared plates of food. Our struggle initially for service and to find our table was fortunately made up for in the speedy food service and a cocktail and grazing platter on the house (thanks to some food photoshoot). We will have to pop back here for drinks and nibbles and to enjoy their live music and evening vibes.

We had our staff Christmas Party here and I am so glad we did. Everyone had an awesome time and the customer service was fantastic. John was so helpful via email from start to finish and the staff on the day were awesome (especially the young guy from the UK) sorry if I got that wrong but his customer service is brilliant and I wish all people at bars and eateries were like him! Food was great, beers were great, espresso martinis were great and the venue was bloody awesome! Thanks for a great time. I will totally be hitting this spot more often now!

Fantastic place and a must go too if you want gourmet pub food, great beer and friendly service. The heavily spiced lamb chops and seaweed chips were just delicious. Particularly the seaweed chips because they defied my first instinct - which went along the lines of "you're kidding right".
Must say though, the Malaysian snapper was slightly over-cooked but super flavour. Having said that, I think my mate ate most of the middle bits and left me the edges!

It's hard to notice this place exist with only the logo. Definately need the branding more visible for potential customer.
The font on the menu is too small to read for the lighting inside. I need to use my phone light to read them.

New favourite local. Good selection of beers and wines, good patio for getting sunburnt on, generous pours, and excellent food that was surprisingly quick.
Absolutely stunning inside- wooden floors and brick walls, plants lining the walls, a huge glasshouse roof. The food was ok- took ages to come(30 mins and it was quiet at the time) and was lacking a bit of flavour- perhaps needed some more salt and lemon juice- but it was still lovely! They don't do hot coffee- only cold brew- but a great selection of other drinks. Would come back again.
The Pocket is is an awesome bar / cafe /eatery 'close to the city' in Surrey Crescent, Grey Lynn. Perfect for a casual meet-up or meal. There's a range of seating, inside intimate or for groups as well as external covered. The day I went there I noticed a number of reserved tables for businesses for after work drinks and nibbles. Obviously well suited for this.
Food options include a number of share platters and drinks include beers, wines, mixes and their own in house sparkling water. Happy to recommend.
We booked The Bank for our winter wedding venue - John and the Pocket Bar & Kitchen staff were incredible and made the day run smoothly and without any drama. The food was delicious, everyone was well-fed and happy. The drinks flowed very easily, the dance floor was full all night long and the vibes were 10/10. John and the staff were a well-oiled machine, serving our 80 guests all afternoon/night and everything went so fab. We would highly recommend the space to anyone looking for a central Auckland venue for a special event. A really cool venue space, that was equal parts rustic and relaxed, with intimate and magical.
We had the broccoli and beans salad that was very tasty and the serving of chips was substantial. Staff were pleasant. Would go again.
We recently booked the event space "The Bank" at Pocket Bar for my milestone birthday party. The space was just perfect! A cool old brick bank, with a high ceiling! We were able to set up early, fairy lights and a sound system already set up, ready to plug in my playlist! The finger food platters were really delicious! Taylor, our barman for the night was awesome, so friendly and engaging. We all had a great night! Thank you to John and Lawrence for making my night go without a hitch! When nerves are running high, the team at Pocket Bar make you feel that you are in very experienced hands! Fantastic!
