Best fish and chips shop I came along in Auckland yet. The soft shell crab bun is amazing. Super friendly staff too. We will be back for sure!
Best takeaways I've had. The chips are yummy, the southern fried prawns are hubbys fave. The man that takes out orders always has a smile. Love this place.
This was my first time at this tale-away shop. I actually didn't order fish & chips but tacos instead and the food didn't let me down even just for one second. The tacos and kumara chips are just best of best. For a very affordable price with a big portion I bet nowhere else in Auckland can beat this place. The fish and prawns are also super super fresh too. This is definitely one of my favorite food places from now on.
I was not that into fish'n'chips but this one really surprised me. Fish was fresh and fried perfectly. Nothing to complain about the fish. Salmon's super juicy and rich! Highly recommended.
But I was not satisfied with the kumara chips 'cause some of the kumara were rotten by worms and appear spicy and unpleasant flavor. I wish that they have chosen kumara carefully and prepare them in a more sophisticated way!
Kept coming back as fish and chips were amazing. Crunchy and so yummy! The staff were nice. The place is just accessible and easy to find. If you need to find best fish n chips, just come here. :) 👍👍👍

Really cool spot in Herne Bay! Fish was very fresh and juicy, slaw had a nice bite to it and I enjoyed the dressing on it too. You get a lot of food when you order the supper so make sure you’re really hungry or split it with a friend. Staff were friendly and food came out quick. Would come back again to try out other menu items!
Best fish n chips I’ve had in Auckland so far. Double fried chips are fire and the portion size is huge. Fresh as fish. Recommend coming here.
17/01/2019 - Good quality fish and chips. Fish came out super crunchy I recommend getting it crumbed for extra crunch. Grilled is another option for those who want less coating. Paua fritters are amazing - a very fair portion of Paua meat inside. Bought 2 more to takeaway yesterday. Calamari was good; had this very aromatic taste. Service was good. Would go again! :). Quite popular location as per number of customers enjoying meals after a hard days work. Nice sign and set up; for a small establishment. Thanks for the meal!
The staff were nice and friendly, a few seats inside and out to sit but who rarely doesnt take away their fish and chips!

Came here for dinner. The place feels traditional. It’s the type of fish and chips you remember fondly years ago. They cook their fish and chips well. It isn’t the best in Auckland, however they do a decent enough job. My favourite thing I ordered was their scollops. The tacos weren’t too bad. I was hoping for a really good salsa, however that’s not the case. Otherwise this is a good option in Auckland for fish and chips.
I read about you guys being the yummiest fish&chip outlet on NZ Herald. And guess what, you guys proved it right! The yummiest fish and chips I have ever consumed in 22years. The sauce, fries, salad is perfect. On top of that! The fish of the day doesn't even feel deep fried. They also ask you, how you like your fish. Yum yum yum, totally worth the $18.00!!!!!! ❤❤❤
Our very first meal in New Zealand was good old ‘Fush and Chups’. Auckland is surrounded by water, in-between and all around so you can literally find fresh fish anywhere, and at any time.
Out of all the takeaway spots we've tried though for fish and chips, FishSmith never disappoints. This weekend we branched out and tried their battered fish tacos with coleslaw and hot sauce - one of the most simple and delicious meals I've had all year!
They get really busy in peak periods, so do not be put off if they do not answer their phones.

With Frankie loving snapper and they grilled it which is the first fish and chips shop we've ever visited that offered such option We were very happy indeed and Frankie polished it!

Nice fresh fish n chips served in a cardboard box for dine in patrons. Only drinks were fancy sodas and no regular ones. No salad in our boxes but the slaw was yummy. Felt the price was a little high for just one piece but guess that is the area. Only concern really was a lack of rubbish bins other than the council ones out the front. Other than that it would have been 5 stars.

Been here a couple of times and will keep coming back, the fish burgers are so tasty - huge portion of fresh fish in each burger and all other burger components are great too. Highly recommend.

If you’re not a big eater, I’d highly recommend sharing the meal with a friend and maybe ordering some extra sides to nibble on.
The battered oysters and crab sticks are both delicious options. As is the smokey(?) aioli (the white coloured one).
We wanted to eat the best fish and chips in Auckland and this came in the top list so we give it a go.. Well you will not be disappointed, we got 2 Supper salmon meal, kids fish & chips
Meal and a fish burger.. and they are so yummy! My son loves the crispy crumbed salmon, he prefers mine and he ate half of my fish 😅 comes with fresh greens and large portion of chips.. wish you can get more of the sauce, as it is just too small for a supper meal.. But definitely will come back!
Great Indian burger and the fish tacos, we ordered and it was were delicious, great batter, and fresh fish..Ordered our food, and we were delighted.to go next door for drink and eat there.
According to my Chinese friend, "The no.1 fish and chip shop since I live in Auckland for 10 years". They make by fresh fish and oil which you can identify. Friendly handsome man done a great job!
Chips are pretty good and double fried, as I suppose. Salmon was great as well. Not cheap, but good quality that is worth the money! We would definitely come back.
