Highly recommend this place. The ambience is cosy and inviting. The staff are most helpful, with great service. The dessert menu has multiple options and they have great coffee to go with it.
Delicious and decadent! ambience and art creates a homely feel. If you visit, please try the 'hot mess' its a chocoholics fix!

Auckland’s recent miserable weather calls for warm winter drinks, and 𝔼𝕝𝕚𝕤𝕒𝕓𝕖𝕥𝕙 is the perfect place to curl up with a hot chocolate & some tasty treats, either for a cute date night or a casual catch up with ur besties ❄️ ☕️🍫
• 𝘼𝙢𝙗𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚: Small, private & inviting. Dimly lit, brick-interior cafe for a warm cosy vibe (though this also means it doesn’t have the best lighting for your insta shots 😅).
• 𝙏𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚:
- Salted Caramel Tart: Yum, rich but not too overpoweringly sweet.
- Vanilla Bean Eclair: Standard eclair with custard cream filling & whipped cream topping. The vanilla flavour was not very prominent and the choux pastry was quite dry. Unfortunately this was a miss for me.
- Triple Chocolate Brownie: Such a hit, very fudgy & chewy! If you fancy something extra, you can opt for the Triple Chocolate Brownie Trifle, which comes with icecream, chocolate sauce & a shot of espresso on the side.
- Lava Cake & Raspberry Sorbet: dense & fudgy with refreshing fruity sorbet, you can’t really go wrong with this 😋
- Hot Chocolate: This is a must! They have a range of options from milk to dark choco, with peppermint, ginger, fairy floss, or s’mores etc to suit ur liking. I had the Hot chocolate ‘Mess’ Milk chocolate, which was very rich & creamy, topped with yummy chocolate shavings. 𝘛𝘏𝘌 perfect hot choco for sipping on cold winter nights 👌🥰
- Spiced Ginger Latte: Very warm spiced latte with hints of ginger. Tbh I’d prefer it a bit stronger & sweeter, but it’s still a nice light drink to balance out all the richness from the desserts.
• 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚: Staff are welcoming & polite - the guy who served my Ginger Latte got my order wrong, but he quickly apologized and made a new one for me. Service could be a tad bit slow during peak times but the staff’s attentiveness really makes up for this.

Been here a few times now. I love this place because it's great for late night chocolate cravings. Super yummy but for special occasions, as it's too chocolate rich!

Elisabeth’s is an adorable little dessert place in Kingsland that serves the BEST hot chocolate I’ve ever tasted. This cozy and old-fashioned cafe is a perfect spot for a date night.

Went here for friends to get desserts after dinner in Saturday night. The place is cozy and great to spend time, also they have the chocolate sorbet ice cream which became my fave since it’s dairy free. They also have a various chocolate drink menu on the list😍🤤
Love the hot chocolate drinks, coziness, Christmas vibes and 80/90s music here. Opened late hours are a perk. Recommended 😍
Best hot chocolate in Auckland hands down! Came in on a rainy night and the hot chocolate instantly warmed us up. The cakes and tarts are awesome too. Best dessert place by far.
Been to Elisabeth a few times now, but looks like they now have different owners. Went on a public holiday and was unsure if they were open, tried contacting on phone and instagram with no avail.
The place is still just as good in terms of desserts and hot chocolate. Serving sizes still worthwhile for the price and the space is nice and cosy. I do however wish the back area was lit better, I understand they want the dim lighting for ambience but a little brighter would be better to see the menus in.
Unfortunately the wait time last night was too long. The server (potentially owner) had advised a 10 minute wait but ended up being more towards 15-20 minutes as they only had her making drinks, and a few people were already waiting.
Otherwise would still definitely go back for a nice coffee hang, and would recommend.
Every dish that we ordered was really delicious. Will definitely go back to try their other desserts.
After scouring zomato for an after dinner dessert spot we stumbled upon Elisabeth (the first two places we tried were closed so it really was third time lucky). Sitting in this beautiful little shop transported me to pre-Christmas Day London with the naked brick wall, industrial-esque shelving and the hanging lightbulbs. To put things simply, Elisabeth felt magical and oddly comforting. The great thing about this place is that regardless of whether you’re a milk chocolate lightweight or a 70%+ buff Elisabeth has you covered. I ordered the S’mores Hot Chocolate which was a bit of a wild card for me since I’m not the biggest marshmallow queen. The hot chocolate had the perfect balance of sweetness and the consistency was right on the money (watery hot chocolate is a sin and should be banned). I loved the chocolate shavings on the top of my hot chocolate as they created a thick layer on top. THE MARSHMALLOW was a true beauty. I’m not sure if Elisabeth makes their own marshmallows, but if they do then W O W 🔥🔥 (even if they don’t, they have excellent marshmallow selecting skills). This marshmallow was fluffy, light and perfectly toasted. It was delicious. Ev and I also ordered the Triple Chocolate Brownie Trifle AND IT WAS AMAZING. If you guys know Mrs Higgins brownies then you know that they are.... they were?? The best brownies known to man... that was until Elisabeth’s brownie took Mrs Higgins brownie and showed it what it could be. I absolutely loved this dessert and lowkey wish Evan had his own. The trifle came with an esspresso shot and milk to help ease the coffee strength. The two man team they had taking orders and pumping out drinks and desserts was a standout. The man who served us was exceptional. I really appreciated and enjoyed how he took the time to explain to us how best to consume the trifle and the different components involved. I’m so glad that I finally got to visit this beautiful shop and that I had such an exceptional experience (shout-out to the killer playlist you guys had going).
This dessert shop is an absolute gem! The cozy brick walls and jazz music create a warm and fuzzy atmosphere. The staff is lovely and attentive, making your visit even more delightful. And the desserts? They are decadently delicious, like pieces of art you can eat. Easily the most adorable dessert shop I've ever been to. Highly recommended!
Such a delightful (and delicious) surprise! I was walking by and saw "hot chocolate" on the sign and decided to try my luck for a dairy-free/vegan option. They have an extensive hot chocolate menu and more than half the options can be made vegan. There are also many delicious treats, with multiple vegan options as well. I enjoyed a dark hot chocolate with oat milk, which was super rich in a chocolate-lover way. They're open late, too, providing a fantastic evening and late night alternative to bars and clubs. There is comfortable seating and a chill atmosphere with music that isn't too loud to hold a regular conversation. Now that I know it's here, I'll definitely be back!
My favourite late night dessert spot in Auckland! Their hot chocolates are to die for - I highly recommend the dark chocolate one. Also, you have to get one of their lava cakes. Really great spot for a date or a wholesome night with friends ❤️
The atmosphere and vibe was amazing- very cosy and warm inside. Dessert was just divine! They recommended a really nice chocolate drink for me. Great suggestion! Love it !
Nice food and great service!
We ordered the Lava cake and French earl grey tea. The lava cake saved us from our chocolate craving and the vanilla ice cream that came with it was amazing. We also loved the French earl grey tea - beautiful scent. Would like to visit again to try their famous hot chocolate!
Elisabeth's Chef is such a warm and inviting dessert store. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed warmly. We ordered a dark chocolate hot chocolate with coconut milk, a single scoop of black Doris plum sorbet, and a peanut butter hot chocolate.
The hot chocolates arrived super hot, filled to the brim. They were absolutely divine. The owner engaged with us, making jokes, being very friendly. He checked in with us, and offered to give us takeaway cups if we couldn't finish our drinks.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with lovely warm lighting and a range of seats. Even with a filled shop, the noise never got overwhelming. There was soft jazz music playing in the background, and the interior felt very homely.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience here and are excited to come back again to try more of their menu. We will definitely be bringing more of our friends and family here again!
10/10 would recommend.
Been coming here for 5+ yrs and the drinks have always been amazing! Quality and quantity of drinks has not changed a single bit. Qudos to Elisabeth staff and management for keeping this gem of a place up to mark with quality, service and price.
The best hot chocolates and desserts in town. The owner is the nicest guy. I come here everytime I need the best sweet stuff in Auckland and we drive all the way from Howick just for that. How do I give this place 6 stars?!?
My boyfriend introduced this restaurant to me, and it's become one of my favorites. As far as my love goes for hot chocolate, I didn't know there's so many varieties. I will always choose to come back here.
Really good real chocolate taste, not like the sometimes where you end up getting chocolate milk experience. Desserts are also generous portion for sharing.
